• As you will see, we have a busy and
• exciting year ahead of us. We have
• many things planned that will require
• volunteers in our classroom.
• I encourage all parents to visit us and
• see what we are learning. Please feel
• free to stop by whenever possible.

Technology Goal

• A few of the things that I would like all of my
• students to learn this year are
• How to utilize the Internet for research
• Basic Word Processing Skills
• How to create an Excel Spreadsheet

Social Studies/History

• A few of the things we will be
• learning
• American Revolution
• How a democratic government is formed
• What it means to be a good citizen
• A field trip to a homeless shelter is
• planned for the month of November.

• Mean, Median, Mode
• Using graphs and charts to solve problems
• Some basic Algebra- linear equations and
  exponents
• We will also be utilizing
• Excel spreadsheets to
• manipulate and display data.

Reading

• I hope to pass on my love of reading to
• my students. We will be reading books
• together throughout the year. A few of
• them are
• The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
• Harry Potter 4
• The Hobbit
• Every month, each student will be
• responsible for reading a different book
• and complete a typed report. In
• addition to the book report, they will
• present their book to the class.

Science

• Science will be very exciting
• this year! A few of the things
• we are learning are
• Newtons Laws of Motion
• Photosynthesis
• The 4 steps of Experimentation

Language Arts

• Our class will be writing a
• childrens book. We will use
• computer generated and hand
• drawn illustrations to make it fun.
• At the end of this project, I will
• have our book printed for each
• student.
