FPA Development Initiative

• LAST YEAR
• 7 Schools Targeted (Clemson, Jackson State, BSC,
  UAB, Coker, Wofford College, and Miss State)
• Profile Schools which used to be active in
  Fulbright.
• Goals with the Schools one application for 2004
  but 10 for 2005.
• All schools submitted applications, except for U
  of Alabama and Jacksonville State University.
• Visit to New York on December 13th 15th for NSC
  meeting.

• 4 Stage Approach
• For successful Schools within Fulbright, target
  Minority serving organizations on campus.
  Collaborating with the FPA.
• For Targeted Schools, target minority serving
  clubs on campus. 2 criteria (1) previously
  active in Fulbright (2) large pop. Of
  minorities.
• Non-Profit groups (for example, Posse)
• Media (Chronicle of Higher Education)
