Rationale
  • Information Technology and Communications have a
central role in the economic and social
    development of our societies, but...
  • There is a gap between the fast evolution of
technology and the slower pace of production of
new content for the emerging media.

20
Rationale
  • EuroMACHS centres on the perceived need of a new
    type of professional profile
  • a "frontier actor" capable of bridging
    Humanistic Knowledge, specially History and
Cultural Heritage Studies, with the new media
    Internet sites, Digital Repositories, Computer
    Games, Historical-Geographic Information Systems,
    etc...

manage effectively complex projects for the
    content industries.

Why European?
  • The problems of content production and bridging

a fertile ground where innovative solutions can
    emerge.
  • Europe provides advanced technological
    industries, multi-secular heritage, rich
diversity of cultures and historical experiences,
    millions of educated cultural consumers.

27
How it works
  • Each institution enrols its own students
  • First Semester
  • Students are at their home institutions.
  • Coordinated content ensures every student gets
    similar basic conceptual and technological
    competences.
  • Students cooperate and are exposed to what will
be offered in other institutions through online
    collaboration and staff mobility.

28
How it works
  • Second semester
  • Students choose another institution to further
    their training in specific areas
  • Courses in English
  • Third Semester
  • Students either return home for
    placement/internship or further courses.
  • Fourth semester
  • Students write their thesis/project with co-
supervisors from the institution close to their
