Marketing as Strategy  Creating and
Communicating Customer Value Nirmalya Kumar
  • This conference will include two sessions
  • Marketing as Strategy I Creating Customer Value
  • How to differentiate from competitors by viewing
marketing as strategy. In such a view, firms must
    integrate strategy, innovative marketing, and
supply chain excellence to create customer
value.  We will use the Zara case to highlight
the essence of successful marketing strategies
    that create customer value.
  • Creating breakthrough customer value
  • Being market driving rather than market driven
  • Marketing as Strategy II Documenting and
    Demonstrating Value
  • Today, marketers in Business Markets face
tremendous price pressure from customers. The
presentation will outline how to meet this
challenge using a customer value management
approach, based on the book entitled Value
Merchants Demonstrating and Documenting Value in
    Business Markets.
  • Key points
  • Demonstrating and documenting customer value
  • Transforming salespeople from value spendthrifts
    to value merchants
  • Pricing for profit

Nirmalya Kumar is Professor of Marketing,
Director of Centre for Marketing, and Co-Director
for Aditya V. Birla India Centre at  London
Business School. Nirmalya is passionate about
marketing and willing to espouse controversial
positions. He believes that the marketing
function is currently in crisis.  By focusing on
the 4P's, marketing is caught in the whirlpool of
corporate obscurity that comes with
responsibility for tactical implementation
issues. Instead, for marketing to be relevant to
CEOs, it must become strategic, cross-functional,
and bottom-line oriented.

I Want to Tweet You Up Michael Tchong
  • It's made the news and makes the news. Twitter
is everywhere. But where did this phenomenon
emanate from? And what seeds of a new social
revolution are propelling its success? As
consumers increasingly cross their "Ts" in
evolutionary steps first typing, then texting
and now twittering, marked changes are sweeping
    over society.
  • As our culture hurtles forward in a never-ending
quest to weave technology into the fabric of
life, humans are responding in extraordinary ways
to a changing dialog. A baby is born while its
child-bearing mother "tweets." Plane crashes are
now routinely scooped on Twitter, ahead of
traditional media. The twitterati are reshaping
society by propelling trends faster than ever
    before.
  • Follow trendwatcher Michael Tchong as he takes
you on a exhilarating journey through this
dazzling landscape of now. And prepare to be
amazed, amused and revitalized. Buckle up!
  • In I Want to Tweet You Up, Michael will
    discuss
  • Ubertrends compress time and usher in new digital
    lifestyle
  • Social media are revolutionizing the human
    interaction and changing the dialog
  • Marketing has to adapt to this new reality by
    focusing on social engagement
  • Innovation and reinvention are the watchwords for
    today.
  • Michael Tchong is a trend analyst and founder of
    Ubercool, a next-generation, Internet marketing
service that develops and produces branded
    entertainment events that immerse premium
audiences in innovative online and offline
    infotainment. The company embraces Michaels
transformational imprimatur, living up to its
mission of bringing innovation to life.

Sustaining Sales Brilliance in Times of Change
Simon T. Bailey, MA, CSP
  • In times of change, it is imperative that
individuals and businesses understand how to
adapt a resilient mindset and remain relevant in
    the midst of uncertainty.
  • When you operate outside of your brilliance, you
tend to be disengaged from life. You work and
live to meet your needs rather than to maximize
    your potential.
  • When you release your brilliance, you uncover
ways and means to be the difference that makes
the difference. Your leader notices it, your
clients connect to it, and the organizations
bottom line is impacted by it.
  • In this interactive session you will learn the
    following
  • Discover how to leverage your own assets
    (education, experience, energy, and
relationships) to create your future instead of
    having it created for you.
  • Bounce back from hyper-change in your business
environment due to added responsibility and
    reduction in force.
  • Be equipped with tips, tools and techniques that
will enable you to increase your performance and
    productivity.
  • Simon T. Bailey inspires individuals to take
charge of change and transform their lives from
the inside out. A thought leader and fresh voice
in the businesses world, Bailey connects the dots
    between individual and organizational brilliance.
He challenges and teaches businesses and
organizations to clear obstacles to brilliance in
their cultures, processes, and people, thereby
achieving higher levels of engagement, retention,
and productivity and a brilliant bottom line.
He has authored three other books Simon
Believes…Brilliant Service is the Bottom Line,
Simon Believes…Success is an Inside Job and Simon
Says Dream Live a Passionate Life.
