  • Two, year-long (Fall Spring semester) field
    placements

Agency Criteria to be Field Sites
  • Clearly defined goals and practices compatible
    with SSA
  • Provision of appropriate learning experiences
    (foundation generalist or advanced concentration/
    specialization)
  • Ability to support student coursework
  • Opportunities for student to contribute to
    assessment and improvement of agency
  • Availability of qualified MSW field instructor
  • Program stability
  • Staff sufficient for programming needs
  • Provision of adequate space, equipment, policies
    and support

  • Weekends and/or Evenings

    supervision and learning activities

    regular placements

  • Review field information materials
  • If necessary meet with faculty advisor
  • Submit Field Application
  • Core Information sheet/Essay/Professional Resume
  • Addenda
  • Employment-based proposal
  • Individualized Option Plan (if doing)
  • Strongly Recommended Background clearances
  • Due February 13th (Main Campus) or March 19th
    (TUH Campus)
  • Work with Field Education Specialist that is
    assigned to you
  • Identify possible sites or review
    employment-based proposal
  • Note students CAN NOT contact, solicit or
    arrange own placement
  • Referral to an agency
  • Interview at agency
  • Confirm placement
  • Attend appropriate orientations (SSA and/or
    agency)
