The Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC) is a kind of
blended cement which is produced by either inter
grinding of OPC clinker along with gypsum and
pozzolanic materials in certain proportions. PPC
is widely used in mass concrete works such as
dams, spillways, retaining walls, all types of
reinforced cement concrete (RCC) work,
underground structures, bridges, general building
works and hydro-power stations.

Which cement is better PPC or PSC?
Portland Slag Cement (PSC) is produced by mixing
Portland cement clinker, gypsum and granulated
Blast Furnace slag in suitable proportions and
grinding the mixture to get a thorough and
intimate mixture between the constituents. PSC
is widely used in all types of residential,
commercial and industrial projects, dams and
other mass concrete works, water retaining
structures, concrete roads and flyovers, and
underground concrete. PSC lessens the risk of
shrinkage cracks and cracking. Strength gain is
less in PPC and it is also not suitable for high
performance concrete and quick concrete setting
whereas PSC brings ultimate strength and
excellent finish, hence PSC holds the upper
hand.
