8Product Overview
- Predictive Maintenance Predictive maintenance
evaluates the overall condition of equipment to
reduce the risk of equipment failure or downtime. - Condition Monitoring Condition monitoring is the
process of monitoring equipment conditions such
as vibration and temperature to aid in scheduling
maintenance for preventing equipment failure,
optimizing equipment performance, and reducing
maintenance cost and time. - Vibration Monitoring Vibration monitoring is
part of condition monitoring, which is used for
the equipment predictive maintenance. - Vibration monitoring uses a piezoelectric
accelerometer to measure the vibrations of
equipment/machine. Initially, a vibration
spectrum is defined, which is acceptable
vibration range for healthy working of
equipment/machine. - The captured data from accelerometer needs to be
digitized with an appropriate sampling rate
greater than or equal to the Nyquist rate (the
minimum rate at which a signal can be sampled
without an error and is equal to twice the
maximum frequency present in the signal). - The next step involves conversion of this time
domain signal to frequency domain signal using
FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) technique. - Finally, the obtained frequency spectrum is
compared with the pre-defined frequency spectrum
of the equipment/machine, in healthy condition,
in order to identify changes caused by faults. - Rotating machinery (mechanical components that
use their kinetic energy to move fluids and other
process materials) are well-suited to vibration
monitoring.
9Product Overview
- Vibration monitoring of equipment can be done in
two ways - Portable Portable vibration monitoring involves
the use of portable equipment to monitor the
health of a machine. Sensors are attached to the
machine and portable equipment is used to read
the data from sensors. - Online In online vibration monitoring, data is
acquired by the embedded device which is then
transmitted to the main server for data analysis. - Vibration monitoring system is used in various
industries including oil gas, automotive,
chemicals, marine, energy power, etc.
10Research Methodology
11Research Methodology
- Baseline Methodology
- Our dedicated team of industry experts has
monitored and analyzed various aspects of North
America vibration monitoring market. The team has
analyzed the outlook of various segments of this
market, while considering the major influencing
factors and speculated a robust growth during the
forecast period. The study includes market
forecasting, which would enable our clients to
take better decisions while planning their
strategy to achieve sustainability in North
America vibration monitoring market. - Methodology Followed for Calculation of Market
Size - Market Size by Value Market size, in terms of
value, for the year 2018 was calculated based on
information collected through exhaustive
secondary research and primary surveys, with
various key opinion leaders/stakeholders, such as
vibration monitoring solution providing
companies. - The team interviewed more than 25 companies, 150
industry experts and other value chain
stakeholders in North America vibration
monitoring market to obtain the overall market
size during 2014-2018, which was validated by the
Delphi technique. Taking standard deviation into
consideration, the market size was averaged out,
to arrive at the market size data for 2014-2018.
12Research Methodology
- Respondents were asked about the current and
future market growth rates, as well as market
shares by offering and by country. Removing the
outlier responses, the geometric mean of growth
estimates and provider wise revenue shares
generated across various segments were
considered, to arrive at the final revenue
shares. Revenue shares generated across various
segments were further triangulated from other
stakeholders depending upon the type of solution. - Methodology Followed for Calculation of Market
Shares - Market shares by offering, by monitoring process,
by system type, by industry, by country and by
company were calculated based on the responses
received through primary surveys with industry
experts, in which the respondents were asked
about the market shares or revenue generated
through vibration monitoring solutions. The final
shares were calculated by taking the geometric
mean of the responses gathered from key opinion
leaders after eliminating the outliers. - Methodology Followed for Forecasting
- TechSci Research performed periodical checks on
data collected through the surveys with logical
checks and analyzed the survey results in
SPSS/Tableau Software.
