What is Rheumatoid Arthritis(RA) ?

• Rheumatoid Arthritis is considered to be an auto
  immune disorder in modern medicine. Ayurveda says
  vata rakta or Ama Vata is the output of disturbed
  metabolism. When the food inside the stomach is
  not well digest it gives rise to a malformed
  blood. In Ayurveda this is called Ama. This Ama
  is circulated through the heart all over the
  body. Wherever it goes it blocks the channel,
  subsequently, it blocks the air. The blocked air
  or Vata causes pain and swelling. As Ama is a
  blood ama vata is also called Vata rakta.

Symptoms and signs

• Ama vata, vata rakta or RA are synonymous. All
  the joints especially the small joints are
  affected. Pain, tenderness, burning sensation,
  swelling, morning stiffness, discolouration of
  skin are the sign and symptoms of rheumatoid
  arthritis. Loss of appetite indigestion, loss of
  interest in food, fever, heaviness in body are
  also observed complained by the patient. The pain
  may shift from joint to joint.
