What exactly is a birth doula?

• "A doula is a person who attends the birthing
  family before, during, and just after the birth
  of the baby. The doula is trained to deliver
  emotional support from home to hospital, ease the
  transition into the hospital environment, and be
  there through changing hospital shifts and
  alternating provider schedules.

Loving Birth Workshop

• If you want to expand your knowledge about the
  childbirth process then our class is for you. You
  will learn about the actual process of birth,
  labor comfort, and relaxation techniques. We
  offer this as a group and in the privacy of your
  own home. The workshop generally lasts
  approximately 3-4 hours. We encourage that this
  class be attended by the pregnant mom and her
  primary support person (who ever will be with her
  during the delivery).

Mother's Blessing Ceremony

• A Mother Blessing is a beautiful and unique way
  to honour the mother, spend time with her, share
  stories, debrief fears and to instill confidence
  and strength.A Mother Blessing can be a
  completely healing and loving time for a
  mother-to-be, at a time when we need to nurture
  our mothers more than ever.

Yoga Therapy

• Through the practice of prenatal yoga, expectant
  mammas can develop strength, stamina and
  stability while becoming aware of how the
  practice needs to be modified for their changing
  bodies. With this connection we turn inwards to
  cultivate internal resources we will draw on
  during labor and birth. Therefore we have on our
  staff, a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) who
  teaches private classes and a weekly class at
  Aloha Yoga Kula located in Kailua.

Prenatal Support

• Even families who wish to birth privately,
  without a doula attending their birth, can still
  benefit from prenatal support. Our prenatal
  support package includes
• A prenatal visit where we will go over your plans
  for birth and give you tips for managing your
  labor
• Phone and email availability to answer any
  questions or to help you find local resources
• A postpartum visit

Prenatal Consulations

• Our 90 minutes prenatal consultations are a great
  way to give an expecting family an extra boost of
  confidence. During the consultation,you will
  learn some tips tricks for coping with labor
  and effective ways to communicate your desires to
  your care provider. These consultations are
  especially beneficial to families who are not
  planning to hire a doula for their upcoming birth.

Belly Casting

• Belly casting is a great way to document the time
  you spent carrying your little one(s). Many
  people use them as a "bowl" as decoration on a
  dresser or table in the nursery. Some people
  choose to mount and hang them on the wall.
  Whatever you choose to do, you won't be
  disappointed, this keepsake will last a lifetime.

Sibling Support

• Dynamics change as a family expands.? This is a
  fun and interactive workshop for big brother or
  sister to be. It is designed for ages 2-12. We
  understand that children learn through play and
  hands on activities. During this class the
  children will be able to express their feelings
  about mom being pregnant and welcoming the new
  baby. They will learn what the new baby will look
  like, sound like, and feel like. They will also
  learn how to bond with the new baby and ways help
  out momma. Each workshop is designed to
  accommodate each family's needs and wants.
