2 Tim 41-5
  • I can't impress this on you too strongly. God is
looking over your shoulder. Christ himself is the
Judge, with the final say on everyone, living and
    dead.

10
  • He is about to break into the open with his rule,
so proclaim the Message with intensity keep on
    your watch.
  • Challenge, warn, and urge your people. Don't ever
    quit. Just keep it simple.

11
  • You're going to find that there will be times
when people will have no stomach for solid
teaching, but will fill up on spiritual junk food
catchy opinions that tickle their fancy.
  • They'll turn their backs on truth and chase
    mirages.

12
  • But you keep your eye on what you're doing
accept the hard times along with the good keep
the Message alive do a thorough job as God's
    servant. (THE MESSAGE)

13
ALL I REALLY NEED TO KNOW I LEARNED FROM NOAH'S
ARK
  • Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built
    the ark.
  • Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone
might ask you to do something really big.
  • Don't listen to critics - do what has to be done.

14
  • Build on high ground.
  • For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
  • Two heads are better than one.
  • Speed isn't always an advantage. The cheetahs
were on board, but so were the snails.

15
  • If you can't fight or flee - float!
  • Take care of your animals as if they were the
    last ones on earth.
  • Don't forget that we're all in the same boat.
  • When the Stuff??? gets really deep, don't sit
    there and complain
  • - shovel!!!
  • Stay below deck during the storm.
  • .

16
  • Remember that the ark was built by amateurs and
the Titanic was built by professionals.
  • If you have to start over, have a friend by your
    side.
  • Remember that the woodpeckers INSIDE are often a
bigger threat than the storm outside.
  • Don't miss the boat.
  • No matter how bleak it looks, there's always a
    rainbow on the other side.

17
The Churchs Jubilee
  • The Bible is our rule of faith and Christ alone
    is Lord,
  • All we are equal in His sight when we obey His
    Word
  • No earthly master do we know, to Christ alone we
    bow,

18
  • The day of sects and creeds for us forevermore
    is past,
  • God's unity joins all the saints upon the world
    so vast
  • We reach our hands in fellowship to every
    blood-washed one,

19
  • 0h blessed truth that broke our bonds! In it we
    now rejoice,
  • While in the holy church of God we hear our
    Savior's voice
  • And gladly to His blessed will submissive we
    shall be,

20
What We Believe is Important
  • Rom 420 Abraham never wavered in believing God's
promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in
this he brought glory to God.
  • 21 He was fully convinced that God is able to do
    whatever he promises.
  • 22 And because of Abraham's faith, God counted
    him as righteous.

21
  • 23 And when God counted him as righteous, it
wasn't just for Abraham's benefit. It was
    recorded
  • 24 for our benefit, too, assuring us that God
will also count us as righteous if we believe in
him, the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the
    dead. NLT.

22
What is a Creed?
  • A creed is simply a statement of faith.
  • When asked by Jesus Christ, "Who do you say that
I am?" Peters response was his creed
  • "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living
God." (Matt. 1615-16 NASB) The English word
"creed" comes from "credo" which means "I
    believe."

23
  • 1. The creeds were formed to meet this need-to
give a powerful statement of orthodox Christian
    belief.
  • 2. The Christian church was being bombarded by
    all kinds of heretical beliefs.
  • 3. In order that Christians might confess what
    they truly believed

24
THE APOSTLES CREED 5th century AD.
  • I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of
    heaven and earth
  • And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord
  • Who was conceived by the
  • Holy Spirit,

25
  • born of the Virgin Mary,
  • suffered under Pontius Pilate,
  • was crucified, dead, and buried
  • and descended into Hades.

26
  • The third day he rose again from the dead.
  • He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right
hand of God the Father Almighty.
  • Whence he shall come to judge the quick and the
    dead.

27
  • I believe in the Holy Spirit the holy catholic
    church
  • the communion of saints the forgiveness of sins
  • the resurrection of the body and the life
    everlasting.

28
Martin Luther said
  • "Christian truth could not possibly be put into a
    shorter and clearer statement"
  • than that which is contained in the Apostles
    Creed.

29
The word creed comes from the Latin credo, which
literally means "I believe." What you
believe does matter. Belief is genuinely
important.
30
WE BUILD A SYSTEM OF BELIEF TO HELP EXPLAIN THE
EXPERIENCES TO WHICH WE'RE SUBJECTED.
31
Why Is Belief Important?
  • Hebrews 116 says, "Anyone who comes to him must
believe that he exists and that he rewards those
who earnestly seek him." You either believe that
God is, or you believe that God is not. But you
    are a believer either way

32
Hebrews 113
  • "By faith we understand that the universe was
    formed at God's command."

33
Ephesians 28.
  • "For it is by grace you have been saved, through
    faith"

34
BY FAITH WE STAND
  • "We live by faith, not by sight." 2 Cor 57
  • "It is by faith you stand firm." 2 Cor 124
  • When we are going through life's experiences,
many things prove difficult for us. Sometimes we
have a tendency to be bowled over by them.
  • 'The big question is How can I cope with life?

35
1 John 54
  • This is the victory that has overcome the world
    our faith.

36
THE INGREDIENTS OF BELIEF
  • Today when we talk about belief we don't always
mean what the Scriptures mean by belief. When you
find belief or faith in the Bible, you'll always
find key little words with them like hoie, which
    basically means,
  • "I believe that something is true or someone is
    trustworthy."

37
James 219-20
  • You say you have faith, for you believe that
there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons
believe this, and they tremble in terror. NLT

38
1. CONFIDENCE IN A PERSON
39
  • The Object of our Faith must be worthy of our
    Faith!

40
2. AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS
41
3. PERSEVERANCE
42
4. BEING CONVINCED OF GOD'S PROMISES
43
