INTRODUCTION
The book is about a poor family and the boy in
the story wants to get an education. They have a
dog and its name is Sounder.The dad steals and
the sheriff comes and arrests the dad. Sounder
chases after the wagon and gets shot.

MAIN CHARACTERS

• The main characters are Sounder,the mom,the dad
  and the boy.

SOUNDER

• Sounder is a redbone hound dog.http//www.dogbree

  every night when the wind isnt blowing.If he
  goes hunting when the wind is blowing then he
  cant smell and hear good.Sounder loves his
  master a lot because he chased the wagon when the
  sheriff arrests him.

THE MOM

• The mom likes to hum and sing.She sells kernels
  at the store.The mom makes breakfast for the
  family in the morning.

THE DAD

• Sounder came to the dad when he was walking down
  a path.The dad hunts with Sounder so they can
  have food.They cant catch any raccoons so the
  dad steals meat from the store.

THE BOY

• The boy wants to get an education.He used to go
  to school but it was really far away.So in the
  winter he stopped going.He loves to go hunting
  with his dad and Sounder. He loves the smell of
  meat because he hardly ever gets it because when
  he is hunting with his dad and Sounder they can
  never catch anything.

MAIN SETTINGS

• The main settings are the cabin the town the jail
  house the meetin and the school house.

THE CABIN

• The cabin is where most of the events
  happen.Sounder dies under the cabin.The cabin is
  where they sleep and eat.The father doesnt die
  to far from the cabin.

THE TOWN
The town is where the mom sells things like
kernels. One time she sold meat because when the
father got arrested they still had the meat he
stole from the store so she sold it.The town is
where the jail house and the school house is.

THE JAIL HOUSE

• The father goes to the jail house after he steals
  the meat from the store. The boy visits the
  father each day then the guard told him not to
  come anymore.The boy gets scared so he doesnt go
  to visit his father anymore.

SCHOOL HOUSE

• The boy goes to school after sounder comes back
  One day when he gets back from school he sees his
  father.The boy becomes friends with the
  teacher.The boy gets an education at the school.

THE MEETIN HOUSE

• They tell stories at the meetin house.They
  usually tell stories about god.The boy likes the
  story of the big flood. He had a dream about it
  happening.The next day he looked out the window
  wanting there to be a flood but there wasnt.

PROBLEM

• The problems are. No one in the family has an
  education so they are poor.Since they are poor
  the dad steals.The sheriff and his deputys
  arrest him.Sounder chases the wagon and gets shot
  by the deputy and dies in the end of the book.The
  dad also dies because while he was in jail he got
  injured.He came out of jail early but he dies in
  the end.

SOLUTION

• The problem is solved by the boy going to school
  and getting an education.Since the boy has an
  education the family wont be poor

MY FAVORITE PART

• My favorite part was when Sounder came back
  after he got shot.It was my favorite part because
  I thought that Sounder was dead.

MY LEAST FAVORITE PART

• My least favorite part was when Sounder got
  shot.I didnt like that part because I thought
  Sounder was dead.If Sounder died that would mess
  up the whole story.

CONCLUTION

• This book would be good for some one who likes
  dogs.I would give this book 8/10.This book is
  good I am not lying.Have fun reading it if you
  ever do.
