What is a Mountain?
  • A mountain is a landform that is much higher than

4
Where do Mountains form?
  • Mountains form where crust is crumpled and pushed
    upward by movements of plates
  • Mountains also form where earths plates come
    together

5
  • When a mountain is created the edge of the denser
plate is forced into the mantle, while the less
dense plate is pushed up. If the plates are the
same density, both plates are pushed up

6
How are mountains created?
  • Mountains are created over long periods of time
by tremendous forces in the earth Mountains are
formed by volcanism, erosion, and disturbances or
an uplift in the earth's crust.
