Why is the 314th Infantry Regiment Memorial
Important to Us?
  • Facilitates our Public History mission by
providing a snapshot of WWI soldier
    accomplishments.
  • Takes advantage of a rare opportunity to acquire
a complete story of a fighting regiment from WWI
    ranging from Mobilization through
    Memorialization.
  • Allows us the unprecedented opportunity to
preserve an original soldier built WWI structure
    tied to the regiment.
  • Ensure heightened visibility of the regiment by
honoring the regiments memory though public
    programs, educational conferences and seminars.
  • Complements our collection policy by focusing on
    the American Soldiers story.

How will the 314th Infantry Regiment Memorial
Collection be Presented?

  • Upon reconstruction of the cabin, we will fully
interpret both the story of the regiment and the
story of the Log Cabin Memorial. (TBD)
  • Integrate the history of the regiment and
division into the AHECs outdoor Army Heritage
Trail WWI Trench Experience being built in Spring
