• Uzbek State Scientific Medical Library (USSML) is
  one of the oldest libraries of the Central Asia
• The library was founded in 1935
• The library is one of the greatest repositories
  of biomedical literature

The USSML Collection

• Consists of about one million documents including
  books, periodical issues, dissertations in Uzbek,
  Russian and other languages
• 160 thousand books and journals in the Foreign
  Literature collection

In the USSML there are such rarities and valuable
books as

• Canon of medical science by Avicenna in Arabic
• Scientific works of Hippocrat
• The scientific publishings of XVII-XIX centuries
• There is a great number of works of the founders
  of medical science and clinical practice
• The works of the famous scientists in the field
  of medicine and biology of Uzbekistan
