The Pinewood Derby

• At Jacks house the constant drone of cutting
  saws made my ears ring. We were at Jacks house
  because his dad was letting us use his saw. My
  dad and I were making my car for the Pinewood
  Derby.

• The Pinewood Derby is a car race in Cub
  Scouts. I had a vision that my car was sleek and
  red. My dad and I worked on my dream what seemed
  like forever. We made sure that the wheels were
  not rough and that they spun well.

• About a month later, my car was finished. It
  was in peak condition for the race. A little
  while later the race started.

• I was nervous because I didnt think I had
  much of a chance of winning. We did a couple
  trials and to my surprise I was winning! At the
  end of all the trials I had won first place in my
  den! I was grinning from ear to ear.

• When my brother started cub scouts he used the
  same design and he won first place in his den
  too! This year I am going to use the same design.
  I still dont think Ill win but I might be
  surprised!
