  en, in, and No. 1, denotes (a) to leave behind,
  among, leave surviving, Rom. 929 (b) to
  forsake, abandon, leave in straits, or helpless.
• 2 Timothy 410 not leaving behind, leaving in
  the lurch.

While one may not totally abandoned assembling
with other Christians by attending only once a
week, he has left the work and duties given to
all Christians to others thus, neglecting his/her
share of responsibility.
