  • There is no language that can express in words
    the beauty of Nepal. This spectacular land is for
    ones eyes to relish. It is a country with varied
    ethnicities, faiths and scenery. Nepals northern
    region has eight of the ten highest peaks in the
    world including Sagarmatha or Mt. Everest the
    highest peak of World. While the southern part of
    the country is rich in fertile soil and is
    heavily urbanized, it has over 240 peaks which
    are more than 20,000 ft above the sea level.

Tourism in Nepal
Tourism in Nepal is the main source of revenue.
The major attractions typically being
mountaineering and spiritual awakening, adventure
sport has also started gaining importance in the
tourists to do list. . Nepal offers the
following adventure sports
  • Mountain Flights,
  • Bungee Jumping,
  • Hot Air Ballooning,
  • Mountain Biking,
  • Paragliding,
  • Rock Climbing,
  • Ultralight Aircraft ,
  • Canyoning and,
  • Zipflyer.

The above list apart, these are my personal
favorite locations to visit

Kathmandu
  • The capital and the biggest city of Nepal, many
    people often call Kathmandu the City of God.
  • There are many temples including the temple of
    Pashupatinath the biggest temple of Lord Shiva
    in the world. Kathmandu guide books often
    describe the various legends about the temple and
    the city itself.
  • Kathmandu offers a lot of choices in cuisines to
    fill your taste buds.
  • Earlier Kathmandu used to be known around the
    globe for its casinos (although Nepali people
    were not allowed to enter casinos). Ever Since
    Nepal became a republic, the casinos are now
    being shifted outside the city and only 5 star
    hotels are permitted to have a casino.

Nagarkot
  • At an altitude of 2175 meters above sea level and
    32 kms east of Kathmandu, Nagarkot is the
    favorite destination for ardent mountain climbers
    and adventure enthusiasts.
  • The picturesque landscape of Sagarmatha Mt.
    Everest is clearly visible from Nagarkot along
    with the peaks of Manaslu (8463 meters), Langan
    (7246 meters), Gaurisankar (7134 meters),Ganesh
    Himal (7111 meters) and, Choba Bhamre (6016
    meters).

Pokhra
  • Standing as the gateway to the Annapurna Mountain
    range, Pokhra is the third largest city of
    Nepal.
  • Pokhra is the destination for mountain climbers
    and trekkers.
  • Three out of ten highest peaks lie at 30 mile
    radius around Nagarkot, making the northern
    skyline of the city offer a very close view of
    the Himalayas.
  • Dhaulagiri (8,167 meters), Annapurna I (8,091
    meters) and Manaslu (8,156 meters) are the three
    out of the 10 highest peaks of the world.

Lumbini
  • The birthplace of GautamBuddh, Lumbini has many
    monasteries, stupas, temples, and other
    architectural artifacts, constructed by various
    dominions of Buddhist fate.
  • The Ashoka Pillar, Maya Devi Temple, Lumbini
    Museum, Sacred Garden, Gotihawa and Kudan are the
    must visit places in Lumbini, as they hold both
    spiritual and historic importance.

Annapurna
  • Having the worlds best trekking routes, it
    attracts a lot of mountain climbers from all over
    the world.
  • The Annapurna range is a subrange of the
    Himalayas.
  • The temple of Muktinath is a major attraction in
    Annapurna. It is a sacred place for both Hindus
    and Buddhists. Hindus often call it
    MuktiKshetra or the place of Liberation or
    Moksha.
  • Annapurna I is the highest peak of this range and
    the10th in the world Annapurna I or Morshiadi
    (8091 meters) was the first 8000 meter peak to be
    climbed.

  • Nepal is a divine country making sure that
    anyone who visits it loves it. There is a strange
    thing about Nepal that keeps you captivated in
    each moment spent there.
