A Year at Loughlin
2
Lend A Hand, Give A Can.
During school, homerooms competed in collecting
canned goods. Which ever home room collected the
most cans won a breakfast. This fund raiser
helped our school community to become more
aware of the statistics of how many people
suffer from hunger in the United States.

Dinner and Games Night
As a Lasallian student community, we gathered
together and enjoyed a fun night of dinner and
games in the schools cafeteria. All the
students made up the menu and cooked dinner
together under the supervision of our
moderators. The rest of the night we played
board games.

JP Morgan Chase Run
At the up Morgan chase run, we volunteered to
set up tables with water for the runners. We set
up over thirty tables with over a two hundred
cups. We also cheered runners on to reach
the finish line. It was a great experience to
hang out with friends and to cheer on people we
didnt even know.

St. Francis Xavier Food Pantry
At the food pantry we gave out food to people in
need. Every second Saturday of a month,
Students who attended would get assigned to a
different area which consisted of a major food
group. Sometimes when students went, they were
assigned the same area but the experiences were
never the same with the people we met.

Random Acts of Kindness Baking.
A group of students went to Manhattan to bring a
little kindness to the people by holding doors,
walking people across the street and handing
out homemade sandwiches and cookies . We also
worked with the volunteer group A Call to
Serve by going to various volunteering sites.
One of the sites was a bake-off where we baked
cakes at a nursing home and spent time with the
elderly.

Cutting Ribbons Attending Retreats
During the year, we cut thousands of ribbons to
create a memorial of all those who have passed
away from AIDS. We also went on many
retreats like the Goshen Holy week retreat. This
retreat was led and designed by the students. It
gave us the chance to become closer to our faith
and God.

LaSalle Week at Loughlin
At the end of the year assembly which takes place
during LaSalle Week, the money raised for St.
Marys over the course of the year is stated to
the entire student body. A giant check is also
presented to a St. Marys in Kenya
representative. During the week, and throughout
the school year we have multiple dress downs,
bakes sales, icee sales, and other fund raisers
that associate with different holidays to raise
money.
