• Anorexia is a plague of modern society. It
  affects mainly girls at puberty and models. The
  causes of this threatening disease are the below
• Anorexics see themselves as overweight
• They create obsessions with food and weight
  control even when they are starved, they deny to
  eat anything and they weigh themselves all the
  time to make sure they have lost and not gained
  weight

• As far as models are concerned, they maintain
  that low weight levels will help them find a
  better job and have the potential for future
  career
• Anorexics have low self-esteem and believe to be
  more beautiful and attractive if they are thinner

Symptoms and consequences

• The initial symptoms of anorexia are extremely
  thin, emaciated appearance
• From the psychological point of view, these
  people show signs of depression and obsessions
  with their weight
• Anorexics are also seem very sensitive and
  vulnerable they have minimal social
  relationships and intercourses

• Anorexia can cause many serious health problems
  like cardiac and respiratory ones or even kidney
  and liver failures
• Another possible negative aspect could be
  neurological complications
• all the above consequences may unfortunately
  lead to death

• It is a fact that anorexia might also affect
  boys and men. This is a scarcer phenomenon but it
  is likely to happen especially to boys who want
  to become more muscular. Men with eating
  disorders want either to be thinner or to gain
  weight so as to create muscles.
• Unfortunately, scientists have not yet found
  medication to treat this disease. A solution
  would be the cooperation of the person who faces
  the problem and doctors, nutritionists and
  psychologists. This method and support from the
  family, can help beat the illness!
