Australia's Queensland faces 'biblical' flood
BBConline, January 1, 2011
A senior official has described the flooding in
Australia, as a disaster of "biblical
proportions". State Treasurer Andrew Fraser said
the economic impact would be severe, with huge
costs compounded by lost income from mining,
farming and tourism. Rockhampton, where 77,000
people live, is the latest city bracing for
impact, amid warnings of 30ft (9m)
floodwaters. More than 20 other towns have
already been left cut off or flooded across an
area larger than France and Germany. The crisis
has been triggered by Australia's wettest spring
on record. At least six river systems across
Queensland have broken their banks. The floods
have affected about 200,000 people, and many have
been evacuated. "We're still directly battling
floodwaters, we haven't seen the peak of the
flood yet at centres like Rockhampton," said
Prime Minister Julia Gillard, who toured the
stricken areas.

It is difficult to comprehend the magnitude of
these floods. They cover an area of the size of
Germany and France! This truly is a disaster of
Biblical proportions. The world may blame Global
Warming. For those who believe in the scriptures
we know this is not some random event. This is
part of the signs and wonders promised BEFORE the
great and terrible day of the LORD arrives. They
are signs provided by the angels who are bringing
about Gods purpose on the earth. They are
designed specifically to WARN all those living on
earth that the final judgements are near. The
days of Noah ended with a flood. These floods are
a sign the end is near
  • And God spared not the old world, but saved
Noah the eighth person, a preacher of
righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the
world of the ungodly The Lord knoweth how to
deliver the godly out of temptations, and to
reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be

Soaring global food prices spark fears of social
Globe Mail, January 5, 2011
Food prices have soared to record levels around
the world, raising fears that poor countries
could face a crisis similar to the one that led
to rioting and rationing two years ago. We are
entering a danger territory, Abdolreza
Abbassian, an economist at the United Nations
Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) told
reporters Wednesday. Prices for many agricultural
commodities started rising last fall largely
because of poor grain crops in Canada, Russia and
Ukraine. They have spiked even higher recently
because of dry weather in Argentina, a major
soybean producer, and flooding in parts of
Australia, which has wiped out many wheat crops.
The price of wheat has jumped about 17 per cent
in the last month while corn is up 11 per cent.
Both are now close to two-year highs. Other food
staples have been soaring as well, including
canola, up 43 per cent last year, and sugar,
which hit 30-year highs. The tight supply
situation is expected to get worse.

The true impact of the natural disasters that
occurred in 2010 are still to be fully
felt. Altogether a total of 950 natural
catastrophes were recorded last year, including
five great natural catastrophes the
earthquakes in Haiti, Chile and central China,
the heat wave in Russia and the floods in
Pakistan. 2010 not only resulted in substantial
losses, but also an exceptionally high number of
fatalities nearly 300,000. We now see food
prices rising quickly due to the crop destruction
with nations like Russia banning grain exports.
Jesus spoke of a time to come when there would be
great earthquakes and famines. We see large scale
famine as a distinct possibility with these
events. Whatever happens though NOTHING will
separate US from Christ.
  • Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution,
or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
  • No, in all these things we are more than
conquerors through him who loved us.
  • v22 of this chapter speaks of all creation
    groaning as in childbirth.

Bird deaths is it the end of the world?
Daily Telegraph, January 6, 2011
News of bewildering mass deaths of various air
and seaborne species across the world in the past
week have left scientists and locals alike
searching for answers and conspiracy theorists
salivating. December 2010 thousands of dead
crabs washed up along Kent coast 30 December up
to 100,000 dead drum fish over a 20-mile stretch
of the Arkansas River, 200km northwest of Little
Rock discovered 31 December 2010 3,000 of
red-winged blackbirds rained from sky in Arkansas
3 January 2011 500 dead and dying
red-winged-blackbirds fell into Louisiana highway
in Pointe Coupee Parish 40,000 dead devil
crabs washed up on Thanet beaches in Kent 4
January 100 jackdaw birds found lying dead on
the road in Sweden. 4 January 2011 hundreds of
dead eyeless snapper washed up on numerous
Coromandel Peninsula beaches 5 January several
hundred birds found dead in Western Kentucky 200
birds found dead on highway bridge in Texas STOP
PRESS 8 January 1,000 turtle doves fall from
the sky in Italy
Something strange seems to be happening here.
There may well be perfectly understandable and
logical reasons for thousands of air and sea
creatures suddenly dying but it does disconcert
the people of the world. When the natural order
of things stops working it causes alarm. Just
today over 1000 dead birds have literally rained
down in Italy! Mainly turtle doves but also other
birds like pigeons. There is a very interesting
passage in Amos below which connects falling
birds and warning alarm!

Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth where
there is no trap for him?. Shall a trumpet be
blown in the city and the people not be alarmed
and afraid? Shall misfortune or evil occur as
punishment and the Lord has not caused it?
Surely the Lord God will do nothing without
revealing His secret to His servants the prophets.

Brazil floods worst ever natural disaster as
death toll rises
Daily Telegraph, January 14, 2011
The death toll from mudslides and floods in Rio
de Janeiro state in Brazil has risen to 541,
making it the country's worst-ever natural
disaster. Rescue teams pulling bodies from the
debris and searching for survivors were
interrupted on Friday morning as moderate
rainfall returned to the area, provoking fears of
further landslides. More bodies are expected to
be found when the search resumes as rescuers and
fire-fighters reach villages in the mountains
north of Rio de Janeiro cut off by the
destruction of roads and bridges. The worst
affected towns were Novo Friburgo, which had
recorded 247 deaths, Teresopolis, with 231
deaths, and Petropolis, with 43 deaths, according
to municipal officials. The number of dead
surpassed the estimated 437 killed by mudslides
in 1967 in Caraguatatuba in Sao Paulo state in
what was previously considered Brazil's worst
disaster, according to Brazilian media. "It's
very overwhelming. The scenes are very shocking,"
President Dilma Rousseff said after visiting the
area on Thursday, less than two weeks after being
sworn in.

Brazil was reported in the Weekly World Watch
slides just one month ago. They were the first
nation to recognise an independent Palestinian
State. One month later they have suffered their
worst ever natural disaster. As we mentioned on
the first slide - the dividing of the land is
linked to the final judgements of the nations. We
also know that there will be increased natural
disaster at this time as well. In other words all
these events are linked. The correlation between
disaster and godless decisions and wicked ways is
not always clear but the closer we get to the
final judgement the more we are being shown by
God that the two things are connected. These are
warning signs for the nations. They are warning
signs for believers. The end of all things is at
  • The tumult will resound to the ends of the earth,

nations he will bring judgment on all mankind

South African flood deaths rise to 70
BBConline, January 22, 2011
has continued to rise, follows weeks of heavy
rains that began in December. Seventy people
have died and more than 8,000 families have been
forced to leave their homes. Five other
countries in the region, from Mozambique to
Namibia, are on alert for further floods. Some
of the biggest rivers in the region, the Zambezi
and the Okavango, are at about twice their normal
levels. South Africa has declared eight of its
nine provinces disaster areas. Co-operative
Government Minister Sicelo Shiceka said the flood
damage was estimated at 51m (32 million). At
least 10 people have also died in floods in
neighbouring Mozambique and more than 10,000
people have been evacuated from their
homes. Relief workers fear a repeat of the kind
of disaster that struck Mozambique in 2000, when
massive floods killed 800 people. The UN is
warning that there is an increased risk of
cholera, which is endemic in some countries.

More extreme weather. Meteorologists say southern
Africa's floods are caused by El Nino Southern
Oscillation (ENSO), which has also been linked to
recent flooding in Australia and the
Philippines. Jesus tells us that at the time he
returns there will be earthquakes in various
places. There will be famines. There will be
plagues and pestilence. Interestingly the word
translated earthquake is also translated as
tempest in the New Testament. It was when the
great storm struck while Jesus was sleeping on
the boat.

places, and famines, and pestilences and fearful
sights and great signs shall there be from

Icelandic volcano 'set to erupt'
Daily Telegraph, February 8, 2011
Geologists detected the high risk of a new
eruption after evaluating an increased swarm of
earthquakes around the island's second largest
volcano. Pall Einarsson, a professor of
geophysics at the University of Iceland, says the
area around Bárdarbunga is showing signs of
increased activity, which provides "good reason
to worry". He told the country's national TV
station that a low number of seismometer
measuring devices in the area is making it more
difficult to determine the scale and likely
outcome of the current shifts. But he said there
was "every reason to worry" as the sustained
earthquake tremors to the north east of the
remote volcano range are the strongest recorded
in recent times and there was "no doubt" the lava
was rising. The last recorded eruption of
Bárdarbunga was in 1910, although volcanologists
believe its last major eruption occurred in 1477
when it produced a large ash and pumice fallout.
It also produced the largest known lava flow
during the past 10,000 years on earth. It is the
second largest volcano on Iceland and is directly
above the mantle plume of molten rock. By
comparison, Bárdarbunga dwarves the
Eyjafjallajökull volcano, which shutdown most of
Europe's airspace last year after its ash cloud
drifted across the continent's skies.

There are prophecies in the Old Testament that
speak of the sun and moon going dark when the day
of the LORD comes. It is possible that great
volcanic eruptions could cause this. It certainly
has caused it before. The volcano Krakatoa
erupted in 1883. Ash was propelled to a height of
50 miles (80 kilometers), blocking the sun and
plunging the surrounding region into darkness for
two and a half days. We may see these things
happen again.
The earth shall quake before them the heavens
shall tremble the sun and the moon shall be
dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining
And the LORD shall utter his voice before his
army for his camp is very great for he is
strong that executeth his word for the day of
the LORD is great and very terrible and who can
abide it?

China's drought has global implications
The Globe Mail, February 16, 2011
The drought that has parched the land in much of
northern China was already months old when the
artillery was called into action last week. With
the countrys wheat crop critical to bread
prices the world over under threat, hundreds of
shells filled with silver iodide were fired at
the sky. The assault on the clouds had the
desired short-term effect, provoking the first
snowfalls of Beijings winter after 108 days
without precipitation. But while the light snow
brought rare smiles to the faces of grain
growers, the National Meteorological Centre has
already acknowledged it wasnt nearly enough to
relieve the countrys parched breadbasket. Wheat
and flour prices linger near record highs amid
persistent whispers of looming production
shortages that could force Beijing which has
1.3 billion mouths to feed to import large
amounts of wheat for the first time in seven
years. A recent statement on the website of
Chinas national drought control headquarters
described the situation as grim. China is
grappling with drought just as food prices here
and in many parts of the world are soaring,
creating concerns that unrest could spread as
poor countries find many items unaffordable.

Back in the time of Joseph there was a severe
famine that affected Egypt and the then known
world. It was a famine that lasted 7 years and it
brought Egypt to its knees. The only thing that
ultimately saved Egypt from total starvation was
Joseph. In fact the whole of Egypt was eventually
handed over to Joseph in payment for food. He in
turn handed it to Pharaoh. All this is a type of
what is happening now. Egypt the world. Joseph
Christ. Pharaoh God. Only Christ can save
Egypt from destruction
Wherefore shall we die before thine eyes, both we
and our land? buy us and our land for bread, and
we and our land will be servants unto Pharaoh
and give us seed, that we may live, and not die,
that the land be not desolate. And Joseph bought
all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh

Christchurch earthquake 150 feared dead on
New Zealand's 'darkest day'
Daily Telegraph, February 26, 2011
More than 150 are feared dead after a major
earthquake hit Christchurch, one of New Zealand's
biggest cities, in what the prime minister
described "New Zealand's darkest day". Crews
worked through night to free people after a 6.3
magnitude quake, in New Zealand's worst natural
disaster in 80 years. The 6.3-magnitude quake
struck at lunchtime, when streets and shops in
New Zealand's second largest city were packed and
offices were occupied. Christchurch was hit last
September by a 7.1 magnitude quake that damaged
buildings but caused no deaths. This time the
quake was deadly. Emergency crews working under
floodlights risked their lives to raise parts of
the Canterbury Television building to allow
colleagues to look for survivors helicopters
dumped giant buckets of water to try to douse a
fire in a tall office building and a crane
helped rescue workers trapped in another office
block. The mayor of Christchurch, Bob Parker,
told local radio that up to 200 people could be
trapped but later lowered the number to nearer
100. It was the country's worst natural disaster
since a 1931 quake in the North Island city of
Napier killed 256.

There are quite a number of Christadelphians in
the Christchurch area and according to
information we have received all have survived
this earthquake. There are those though with
significant property damage and the ongoing
aftershocks are causing continued distress for
some. It reminds us that we are not immune from
and may experience some of the time of trouble
that is coming. But whether we live or die we
know we shall one day be united with our Lord
Jesus when he returns and by Gods grace be
granted immortal life
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the
great prince which standeth for the children of
thy people and there shall be a time of trouble,
such as never was since there was a nation even
to that same time and at that time thy people
shall be delivered, every one that shall be found
written in the book.

Tsunami terror slams Japan
New York Times, March 12, 2011
An 8.9-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast
of Japan at 2.46 pm Tokyo time (11.16 am IST),
the strongest ever recorded in the country and
one of the largest anywhere in the last century.
The quake churned up a devastating tsunami that
swept over cities and farmland in the northern
part of the country and set off warnings as far
away as the West Coast of the United States and
South America.

Quake shifted Earth 4 inches on its axis
Economic Times, March 12, 2011
The massive earthquake that shook Japan and
triggered a huge tsunami appears to have shifted
the Earth on its axis and moved an island of
Japan, a media report said Saturday. Kenneth
Hudnut, a geophysicist at the US Geological
Survey , told CNN "At this point, we know that
one GPS station moved (8 feet), and we have seen
a map from GSI (Geospatial Information Authority)
in Japan showing the pattern of shift over a
large area is consistent with about that much
shift of the land mass."
  • The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is
clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.

Japan raises nuclear alert level

Japans government
Daily Telegraph, March 19, 2011
Japan has raised the alert level at its
quake-damaged nuclear plant from four to five on
a seven-point international scale of atomic
incidents. The crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi
site, previously rated as a local problem, is now
regarded as having "wider consequences". The UN
says the battle to stabilise the plant is a race
against time. The crisis was prompted by last
week's huge quake and tsunami, which has left at
least 17,000 people dead or missing. Japanese
nuclear officials said core damage to reactors 2
and 3 had prompted the raising of the severity
Earthquake, tsunami, potential nuclear meltdown
and then this week the Shinmoedake volcano in
the Kirishima range in south-western Japan
erupted sending ash and rock over two miles into
the air. Over 15,000 people killed, 1.6 million
homes destroyed and hundreds of thousands of
people made homeless. The pictures are shocking..
almost unbelievable. So what does it all mean?
Did God cause this specifically? Did God himself
launch the earthquake and tsunami on Japan? You
may want to consider this before you answer.
The earthquake and tsunami struck Japan on the
11th March 2011. Exactly one year before on the
11th March 2010 the government of Japan made a
statement about Israel and Jerusalem. The
Government of Japan deplores the decisions of the
Government of Israel to give permission for the
construction of 1,600 housing units in East
Jerusalem in addition to 112 units in West Bank.
The Government of Japan does not recognize any
act that prejudges the final status of Jerusalem
and the territories in the pre-1967 borders.
Japan demands that the plans should not be
implemented. The godless government of Japan
should think before cursing Israel Gods
judges those who do.

  • Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to
thee be lord over thy brethren, and let thy
mothers sons bow down to thee cursed be every
one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that
    blesseth thee.

This is God talking to Jacob
(Israel). Japan in effect cursed Israel.

Stand by to see the Supermoon
Daily Telegraph, March 19, 2011
Tonight the moon will be closer to the earth than
it has been for 18 years - a spectacular sight
awaits us, says James Attlee. This weekend a new
word rises over the horizon of the English
language. The full Moon tonight has been
designated a supermoon as it will be the
nearest approach of the Moon to Earth for the
past 18 years, bringing it some 30,000 miles
closer than usual. If we have clear skies, this
lunar event will be weighted with a special sense
of expectation perhaps, for some people, even
dread. The astrologer who named it a supermoon
predicted that its arrival would coincide with
chaos on Earth, and points to the earthquakes in
New Zealand and Japan as evidence. The Moons
closeness this weekend means that its usual
gravitational pull on our tides will be
intensified we can expect high tides in two
days. The oceans are not the only things that
respond to the Moons approach the Earths crust
is not solid, but expands and contracts to a
small degree in response to the Moons
attraction, a phenomenon known as earth tide a
small increase in such tectonic shifts might be
We cannot know for certain if the closeness of
the moon caused the plates to move but we do know
the moon itself was given for a sign. We read in
Genesis 114 And God said, Let there be lights
in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day
from the night and let them be for signs.. So
the sun and moon are there as signs. The word
sign can mean warning, omen, miracle or proof. As
we see a supermoon being unusually close to the
earth we see a sign. We signs in the physical
heavens and we see signs in the political
heavens. The signs tell us Jesus is about to

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the
moon, and in the stars and upon the earth

fear, and for looking after those things which
are coming on the earth for the powers of heaven

Japan crisis10,000 times more radiation than
Daily Telegraph, March 25, 2011
Concerns over the extent of radioactive
contamination in Japan deepened after it emerged
that three workers admitted to hospital this week
were exposed to radiation levels 10,000 times
higher than normal The news raised fears that the
steel and concrete containment around one of the
reactors at the crippled Fukushima nuclear power
plant could be leaking. Japan's prime minister,
Naoto Kan, made clear that the work to stabilise
Fukushima remains on a knife-edge. "The
situation today at the Fukushima Daiichi power
plant is still very grave and serious. We must
remain vigilant," he said in an evening address
to the nation, "We are not in a position where we
can be optimistic. We must treat every
development with the utmost care." Japanese
officials said further investigations were needed
to determine how the three men replacing a cable
at the No. 3 reactor were sloshing about in water
containing iodine, caesium and cobalt 10,000
times the normal level.

The nuclear crisis in Japan is not going away.
The desperate attempts to prevent a meltdown at
the nuclear reactor continue. As Japans prime
minister says it remains on a knife edge. Also
this week there has been another powerful
earthquake. At least 75 people are reported to
have been killed and many more injured when a
powerful earthquake struck north-eastern Burma on
Thursday. The time of trouble such as never was
is surely coming. Let us not be fearful but put
our trust in God who cares for his children
Be strong and of good courage, and do it fear
not, nor be dismayed for the LORD God, even my
God, will be with thee he will not fail thee,
nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all
the work for the service of the house of the
LORD. Let us heed this advice and continue to
help God build a spiritual house

Economic cost of disasters rose threefold in
Globe Mail, March 29, 2011
The economic cost of natural and man-made
jumped threefold to 218-billion
(U.S.) in 2010 from 68bn
the previous year,
with earthquakes the main cause of death and
destruction, insurer Swiss Reinsurance Co. said
Tuesday. Some 304,000 people died in disasters
last year, a sharp rise from 15,000 in 2009.
Haiti's earthquake alone claimed 222,000 lives,
while almost 56,000 people were killed by
Russia's summer heatwave and over 6,200 people
died from floods in China and Pakistan. The
Zurich-based company said insurers bore
43-billion of the cost of disasters last year, a
60 per cent year-on-year increase. The
earthquakes in Chile and New Zealand had insured
losses of over 12-billion, it said. Eight other
disasters, including storms in the United States,
Germany, France and Australia cost insurers more
than 1-billion last year. The only man-made
catastrophe to make the costliest top ten was the
Deepwater Horizon explosion that caused a massive
oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

A survey in America found the following in
relation to God and natural disasters. 56 said
God is in control of everything that happens in
the world. 38 said earthquakes, floods and other
natural disasters are a sign from God. Surely we
would agree. God is in control of ALL events. He
is not an onlooker surprised when a tsunami
occurs. He is giving everyone prior warning that
the final judgements of the world are
approaching. No one could say that they had no
idea the end was near. Time is fast running out.
Let us awake out of sleepsalvation is coming.
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high
time to awake out of sleep for now is our
salvation nearer than when we believed. The
night is far spent, the day is at hand

Japan Earthquake 3 Killed in 7.1 Aftershock
ABCnews, April 8, 2011
At least three people were killed Thursday after
a 7.1 earthquake
rocked northeast Japan
knocking out power to millions as the country
seeks to rebuild and recover from last month's
devastating quake. Right away, it was clear this
wasn't just another aftershock as buildings
swayed violently for minutes. Four million people
were immediately plunged into darkness when two
power plants were knocked offline. Authorities
told people near the coastline to evacuate and
head to higher ground as a small wave hit the
coast 1240 a.m. local time Friday. Thursday's
quake, which was 25 miles deep, is the strongest
aftershock since the 9.0 quake on March 11.
About 25,000 people are believed to be dead
following the twin disasters. But the greatest
concern was for the Fukushima nuclear reactors,
where seven workers were forced to evacuate.

The world continues to groan in labour pains.
Scientists are trying to establish if the
Magnitude 9.0 Tohoku earthquake has altered the
chances of a major tremor under Tokyo - or
increased the risk of another tremor powerful
enough to generate a tsunami. The massive Sumatra
quake in 2004 was followed by many others above
Magnitude 7.0, including two above Magnitude 8.0
in 2005 and 2007. Seismic activity has definitely
increased since the M 9.0 event, with the
incidence of small earthquakes registered in some
parts of Japan, hundreds of kilometres from the
source, increasing by a factor of 10. One thing
is certain. The contractions have begun and will
continue until the Lord Jesus returns. For those
who have watched and waited there will be great

'Catastrophic' tornadoes kill more than 300
in US
Daily Telegraph, April 29, 2011
A deadly swarm of tornadoes has ripped across the
American south, killing more than 300 people in
the worst storm in a generation. Shocked
Americans were struggling to grasp the magnitude
of disaster after tornadoes wiped out entire
communities across eight states and killed at
least 305 people. Communities like Alabama
Governor Robert Bentley's home town of Tuscaloosa
were flattened, and officials warned the
body-count would rise as rescuers uncovered more
dead in the debris. The storms are the worst to
hit the US since 310 people were killed by
violent weather on April 3, 1974. This time in
Alabama alone the toll reached 204, with more
than 1,700 injured. President Barack Obama and
the First Lady will visit the state today for a
first-hand look at a still unfolding human
tragedy. "The loss of life has been
heartbreaking, especially in Alabama," Mr Obama
said at the White House, describing the disaster
as "nothing short of catastrophic."
President Obama said that the storms "took
mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, friends
and neighbours - even entire communities. The
destruction of these storms is immense. Obamas
words make us think of the words of Christ. For
as in the days that were before the flood they
were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in
marriage, until the day that Noah entered into
the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came,
and took them all away so shall also the coming
of the Son of man be. It was just a normal day
but when the flood came mothers, fathers, sons
and daughters, friends and neighbours were swept
away. Let us each ensure we are ready for the day
Jesus returns the signs show he is near.

  • the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries,
and he reserveth wrath for his enemies. The LORD
is slow to anger, and great in power, and will
not at all acquit the wicked the LORD hath his
way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the
clouds are the dust of his feet.

Deadly tornado outbreak may be worst in U.S.
Bloomberg, May 4, 2011
The tornado outbreak that killed at least 327
people in the Southeast last week may have been
the largest in U.S. history, with an estimated
305 twisters, the National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration said. More than 600
tornadoes formed in all of April, compared with
the previous record of 267 set in 1974, the
agency said in a statement today. That makes
April 2011 the most active month ever, breaking
the record of 542 tornadoes in May 2003. So
far, there have been an estimated 881 tornadoes
in 2011, NOAA said. The annual tornado record
is 1,817, set in 2004. May is historically the
most active month for tornadoes. Insured losses
from the outbreak that lasted from April 25 to
April 27 may be as much as 5 billion, according
to catastrophic risk modeler Eqecat Inc. in
Oakland, California. It was the third-deadliest
single outbreak, behind March 1925 with 747
deaths and March 1932 with 332, NOAA said.

We constantly hear about the worst, hottest,
driest, wettest extreme weather conditions. In
the UK we have just had the hottest and driest
April on record. In America they have seen
possibly the worst outbreak of tornados in their
history. There is a direct correlation between
the increasing godlessness of the world and the
increasing groaning of creation. This is partly
due to the fact that mankind himself causes much
of the groaning of creation and partly due to the
intervention of God himself. He of course
controls the weather, the storms and floods and
uses them to bring about his purpose. We are
surely seeing great signs in the heavens and on
And the LORD shewed signs and wonders, great and
sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his
household, before our eyes And he brought us
out from thence, that he might bring us in, to

fathers. Egypt is symbolic of the world modern

Earthquake in Spain tied to eruption of Italian
Xinhua, May 13, 2011
Click Here to watch Etna erupting this week
The eruption of the Etna volcano in southern
Italy early Thursday is connected to the
earthquakes that rocked the Spanish region of
Murcia, killing 10 people and injuring more than
170 others, a seismology expert said Thursday.
"We are currently witnessing an intense seismic
activity in the entire Mediterranean area from
Spain all the way to Malta which has a certain
impact on regional volcanoes," said Domenico
Patane, director of the Sicily office of Italy s
National Geophysics Institute. Patane said
volcanoes are like windows from where underground
magma surfaces and it's normal that they respond
to earthquakes occurring in a geographic
proximity. "The Spanish eastern coast hit by the
quake, after all, lies close to Italy, in the
Mediterranean. Both Spain and Sicily are on the
same earth plate," he said. Around 2 a.m.
Thursday people in Sicily felt the earth slightly
tremble and heard the sound of an explosion
coming from Etna's pit crater. The eruption sent
flying massive quantities of lava and volcanic
ash, which spilled on the main town of Catania.

The deadliest earthquake to hit Spain in decades
occurred last week. Ten people were killed when a
magnitude-5.1 quake struck the town, just two
hours after one measuring 4.4. Thousands of
buildings in the historic town have been damaged
or destroyed and many residents have left. This
week the Etna volcano began to erupt in Italy. As
the article above says- the two may be
connected. Intense seismic activity is taking
place around the Mediterranean. We are told that
before Jesus returns we will see people rising
up against people and nation against nation. We
will also see earthquakes in diverse place. These
things are underway and are the prelude to
Christs return
Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom
against kingdom And great earthquakes shall be
in divers places, and famines, and pestilences
and fearful sights and great signs shall there be
from heaven.

We currently seem to be seeing on an almost daily
basis the most incredible signs and wonders in
the heavens above and on the earth beneath. There
have always been earthquakes, volcanos and
tornados but it is the number, frequency and
strength of them that appears to be increasing.
It has forinstance been one of the worst (if not
the worst) tornado seasons on record. Every night
as we watch these things it is like watching
another disaster movie from Hollywood only this
time it is real. These are signs given to us by
God himself to show his power, his ability to
control the elements for good and for ill and to
judge the world. In the same way He is able to
control the nations. Let us each take heed for
surely the end is near

'Once in a century' storms hit Massachusetts
Daily Telegraph, June 2, 2011
At least four people were killed and 200 injured
when once in 100 years tornadoes and storms
tore through heavily populated western and
central Massachusetts. Deval Patrick, the
governor of Massachusetts, declared a state of
emergency and authorised 1,000 National Guard
troops to be called up to provide support after
19 communities were hit by at least two
tornadoes. It is early going yet, so those are
not final numbers, although we are hoping and
praying and working as hard as possible to keep
the fatalities limited to those four, Mr Patrick
said. Tornadoes are rare but not unheard of in
the northeastern United States. US Senator John
Kerry, who on Wednesday night accompanied Mr
Patrick as well as other Massachusetts Senator
Scott Brown to Springfield and Monson, the two
urban areas hardest-hit, said This is probably
a once in 100 years or more, weather event.

The Lord God made a promise to Abraham which
still holds true today as it referred to Abraham
AND his descendants. God promised to make Abraham
a great nation. He went on to say I will bless
them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth
thee. The word curseth literally means to
make light of something to treat something as
of little account. In other words if someone does
not treat Israel (the great nation that came
from Abraham) seriously if someone disregards
them or lightly esteems them then God will curse
that person. It is surely worthy of note that
following President Obamas call for Israel to be
divided and returned to the 1967 borders, the
U.S. has been hit with a series of deadly
superstorms. The Joplin tornado which killed
around 200 (which struck within hours of Obamas
speech) was the deadliest since 1947.
Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of
thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy
fathers house, unto a land that I will shew
thee And I will make of thee a great nation,
and I will bless thee, and make thy name great
and thou shalt be a blessing And I will bless
them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth

Chile volcano Ash cloud grounds
more flights
Daily Telegraph, June 2, 2011
A cloud of ash spewed from a volcano

range in Chile has grounded
flights at

airports in Argentina and Uruguay. Chile's
Puyehue-Cordon-Caulle volcano

range, about 800km (500 miles) south of

Santiago, began erupting
last Friday. An airport official said that the
cloud was

now directly above Buenos Aires, at a

of 9,000m (29,000ft). Other smaller

airports in Argentina will
also be closed, officials say, and a crisis
committee is due to meet to re-evaluate the
situation later.

It has been an incredible year so far with great
signs and wonders in the heavens above and the
earth beneath. The picture above was taken this
week as the Chilean volcano exploded into
life. Weve seen volcano, earthquake, tsunami,
flood, tornado, fire. One incredible event after
another. The signs are coming thick and fast
just as contractions with a woman about to give
birth so the contractions are coming stronger and
closer together. There will come a time of
extreme pain. The final stage of labour is when
the woman has the sudden urge to push. It is the
final push that is the most painful of all. That
time has not started. yet. But just as the
contractions lead inexorably to the final push so
the worlds contractions will lead to the time
of trouble such as never was
A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow,
because her hour is come but as soon as she is
delivered of the child, she remembereth no more
the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the
world. And ye now therefore have sorrow but I
will see you again,

Longest total lunar eclipse in 11 years
Daily Telegraph, June 16, 2011
Volcano ash turns Asian eclipse blood red
Millions of people in parts of Europe, eastern
Africa, Asia and Australasia watched as the lunar
surface was completely covered by the Earth's
shadow. Meteorologists say the total eclipse
lasted for 100 minutes, the longest in 11 years.
The last one to exceed this duration occurred in
2000, and the next such eclipse will not take
place until 2141. The red moon shone clearly in
Moscow's evening sky, overlooking the Kremlin,
while South Africans were able to enjoy the
astronomical event thanks to the clear skies.
Egyptians also gathered in Tahrir Square, where
the revolution that toppled Hosni Mubarak took
place, to watch the eclipse. The next total
eclipse of the moon will take place on December
10, 2011 and will, cloud cover permitting, be
will be visible in Australia, parts of Asia,
Eastern Europe and the northwest of North America.

This was a particularly dark eclipse because the
lunar disk passed through the densest central
part of our planet's shadow. The "totality",
which is when the lunar face is completely
covered, lasted 100 minutes, which scientists
said was the longest since July 2000. It will be
over 100 years before we see one like this
again. God says in Genesis 1 that the sun, moon
and stars are given for SIGNS. The moon is
mentioned many times in relation to the last
days. We are told that the moon will turn to
blood before the great and terrible day of the
LORD shall come. The headline in the Telegraph
was Lunar eclipse stargazers treated to
spectacular 'blood red' moon. Some are
suggesting that the increased ash / dust in the
sky from recent volcanos made the moon turn
blood red instead of a rusty orange colour.
I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in
the earth beneath blood, and fire, and vapour of
smoke The sun shall be turned into darkness, and
the moon into blood, before that great and
notable day of the Lord come And it shall come
to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of
the Lord shall be saved. Interesting that smoke
and blood red moon are both mentioned together

Millions displaced by natural disasters last year
Associated Press, June 6, 2011
About 42 million people were forced to flee their
homes because of natural
disasters around the world in 2010, more
than double the number during the
previous year, experts said Monday. One
reason for the increase in the
figure could be climate change, and
the international community should be doing more
to contain it, the experts said. The Internal
Displacement Monitoring Centre said the increase
from 17 million displaced people in 2009 was
mainly due to the impact of "mega-disasters" such
as the massive floods in China and Pakistan and
the earthquakes in Chile and Haiti. It said more
than 90 percent of the disaster displacements
were caused by weather-related hazards such as
floods and storms that were probably impacted by
global warming, but it couldn't say to what
extent. "The intensity and frequency of extreme
weather events is increasing, and this trend is
only set to continue. With all probability, the
number of those affected and displaced will rise
as human-induced climate change comes into full
force," said Elisabeth Rasmusson, the secretary
general of the Norwegian Refugee Council.

The intensity of extreme weather and natural
disasters are increasing. We know there have
always been earthquakes, storms and hurricane
etc. It should not surprise us as we near the end
that there is an increase in intensity of these
things. They are just part of the whole of
creation groaning under increasing godlessness
and sin. It maybe difficulty to comprehend that
there is a direct link between the increase in
sin and the increase in disaster but one only
has to read the Bible to discover that this has
always been the case. The greatest of all
disasters is still to come when God shakes the
whole earth why? Because of mans sin,
wickedness and unbelief

I will punish the world for their evil, and the
wicked for their iniquityTherefore I will shake
the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of
her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and
in the day of his fierce anger.

Ash cloud fears as Icelandic volcano 'ready to
Daily Telegraph, July 6, 2011
One of Icelands most feared volcanoes looks
ready to erupt, experts said on Wednesday,
raising fears of a new ash cloud halting flights
over Europe. The Hekla volcano is close to the
ash-spewing Eyjafjallajökull, which last year
caused the biggest closure of airspace shut down
since the Second World War, affecting more than
100,000 flights and eight million passengers.
The movements around Hekla have been unusual in
the last two to three days, University of
Iceland geophysicist Pall Einarsson said. While
this might not necessarily mean an immediate
blast, the volcano is ready to erupt, he
stressed. The mountain has been slowly expanding
in the last few years because of magma build-up.
Another geophysicist, Ari Trausit Gudmundsson,
also said the measurements around Hekla were very
unusual and that the volcano looked ready to
blow. Something is going on, he said.

Wednesdays news of a possible imminent eruption
comes just over a month after the violent
eruption at the Grimsvötn volcano, in the
southeast of the country. That eruption subsided
after less than a week, having spit out far more
ash than Eyjafjoell, but due to more favourable
winds for Europe, it caused far less air traffic
disruption. After Icelands last two eruptions,
geologists have warned that the countrys
volcanoes appeared to have entered a more active
phase and that more eruptions could be expected,
with Hekla believed to be first in line. The
Bible mentions volcanos. In fact we read about
it in the readings this week. See verse below.
They are always mentioned in relation to
judgement. See Psalm 1445, Micah 14, Nahum
15-6. They are a sign we are nearing the final
judgement of all.
Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou
wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow
down at thy presence, As when the melting fire
burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to
make thy name known to thine adversaries, that
the nations may tremble at thy presence! When
thou didst terrible things which we looked not
for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down
at thy presence.

Heatwave breaks records in parts of US and
BBConline, July 23, 2011
Global Temperatures since 1880
A heatwave has baked eastern parts of the US and
as temperatures surged to
record-breaking highs in some
The mercury in Newark, New Jersey, reached 108F

(42C) on Friday, the highest ever recorded in
the city. In Canada, an extreme heat alert
remained in effect, a day after two dozen cities
and towns broke their previous single-day heat
records. At least 22 deaths have been blamed on
the heat. Across the US alone, where nearly half
of the population was under a heat advisory, more
than 220 heat records have tumbled. Many regions
in the central US and parts of the eastern
seaboard have seen heat indexes - a combination
of temperature and humidity - topping
43C. Officials in the central state of Missouri
say 13 people have died, and there have also been
fatalities in neighbouring Oklahoma, including a
three-year-old boy.

The earths temperature is rising. When a humans
temperature rises it indicates that the person is
sick. There will be an underlying problem that
needs to be cured. It is no different with the
world. As the earths temperature rises it also
indicates sickness. There is an underlying
problem with the earth that needs to be
cured. The problem WILL be cured. It will be
cured when Jesus returns and established Gods
kingdom on earth. The United Nations this week
has declared famine in Somalia. There will be no
famine in the coming kingdom on earth. No drought
no searing temperatures that kill and destroy
crops. The ecosystems of the earth will be
restored. All people will have enough to eat
righteous government will ensure this
happens. Until then we will see famine,
pestilence increase and so we long for Christ
to come.

For nation shall rise against nation, and
kingdom against kingdom and there shall be
earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be
famines and troubles these are the beginnings of
sorrows. Read Isaiah 35 for the picture of what
is coming AFTER all this sorrow.

The haboob returns! Another wall of dust hits
Associated Press, August 19, 2011
Metropolitan Phoenix is shaking itself off Friday
after a giant wall of dust smacked the city for
the third time within the last six weeks, turning
the skies brown and coating anything left outside
in a thin layer of fine dirt. The wall of dust,
known as a haboob, was 1,000 feet high and
travelled at least 50 miles into metro Phoenix
and neighbouring Pinal County on Thursday evening
before dissipating. National Weather Service
meteorologist Ken Waters said the area is
experiencing a typical number of dust storms this
year, but what sets this season apart from others
is the size and power of three of the storms.

US earthquake leads to evacuation of White House
Daily Telegraph, August 24, 2011
As natural disasters go, it was hardly a
catastrophe, but the earthquake felt across parts
of America on Tuesday certainly had an impact. As
buildings swayed from Manhattan to Detroit to
Washington DC, aeroplanes were grounded and
offices evacuated. The earthquake was one of the
strongest ever recorded on the east coast of the
US and forced the evacuations of parts of the
Capitol, White House and Pentagon. There were no
immediate reports of deaths, but fire officials
in Washington said there were some injuries. The
US Geological Survey said the quake registered
magnitude 5.8 and was centred about 40 miles
north-west of Richmond, Virginia. Two nuclear
reactors at the North Anna power station were
taken off line. In Washington DC, thousands
poured into the streets as offices, including in
the Pentagon and the Capitol, were evacuated. The
Holland tunnel under the Hudson River, which
links New York and New Jersey, was closed,
promising delays. Manhattan's forest of
skyscrapers could be felt gently shifting from
side to side.
Israel is now on its highest terror alert after a
string of terrorist attacks this week on the
Israeli-Egyptian border north of Eilat. The
attacks in fact left seven Israeli soldiers and
civilians dead and 33 injured. Five people are in
critical condition. The terrorists from Sinai
used automatic and anti-tank weapons, mortars and
roadside bombs for attacks on two buses and
civilian and military vehicles. We are
approaching the crucial September deadline when
the world will vote on whether to recognise a
Palestinian state in the land of Israel. The
nearer we get to this
  • And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon
the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace
and of supplications and they shall look upon me
whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for
him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall
be in bitterness for him, as one that is in
    bitterness for his firstborn.
