  • Any recent act or failure to act on the part of
    a parent or caretaker which results in death,
    serious physical or emotional harm, sexual abuse

  • Any act or failure to act that endangers a
    child's physical or emotional health and

Types of Abuse
  • Physical- infliction of physical harm on a child
    by a parent or caregiver, not necessarily
    intentional, often the result of harsh
    disciplinary methods (http//www.childtrauma.org/C

  • Sexual- any misuse of a child for sexual pleasure
    or exploitation (National Exchange Club
    Foundation)
  • Emotional- any attitude, behavior, or failure to
    act on the part of the caregiver that interferes
    with a child's mental health or social
    development
