3 What Is Anastasia
- A Proposal Submitted in March 2004 for an EC 6th
Framework Integrated Project to Investigate,
Prototype and Demonstrate Advanced Satellite
Technologies for Navigation and Communications
for Civil Aircraft. - Status - bid is being evaluated
- 4 year project. Expected to start in Jan 2005.
- This presentation just covers communication
aspects
4Scope of Communication Aspects
- .work will concentrate on the design and
implementation of a prototype, affordable
aeronautical satcom system that will meet the
evolving European ATM requirements. (Objective
1) - Evolving European ATM requirements primarily
means NexSat - Affordable means based on existing or planned
space segment (eg Inmarsat BGAN). It is assumed
that civil aviation can not afford its own
satellite system. - There is also a smaller amount of work on more
long term avionic research including multi
frequency antennas. ( Objective 2).
