Title: THE WISE VS. THE FOOLISH

1
THE WISE VS. THE FOOLISH
2
Matthew 724 " Therefore whoever hears these
sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him
to a wise man who built his house on the rock
25 "and the rain descended, the floods came, and
the winds blew and beat on that house and it did
not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26
"But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine,
and does not do them, will be like a foolish man
who built his house on the sand 27 "and the
rain descended, the floods came, and the winds
blew and beat on that house and it fell. And
great was its fall."
3
Joshua 2415 "And if it seems evil to you to
serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day
whom you will serve, whether the gods which your
fathers served that were on the other side of the
River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land
you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will
serve the LORD."
4
Proverbs 1215 The way of a fool is right in his
own eyes, But he who heeds counsel is wise.
5
Proverbs 155 A fool despises his father's
instruction, But he who receives correction is
prudent. Proverbs 1725 A foolish son is a grief
to his father, And bitterness to her who bore him.
6
Proverbs 1324 He who spares his rod hates his
son, But he who loves him disciplines him
promptly. Proverbs 2215 Foolishness is bound up
in the heart of a child The rod of correction
will drive it far from him.
7
Proverbs 2915 The rod and rebuke give wisdom,
But a child left to himself brings shame to his
mother.
8
Proverbs 101 A wise son makes a glad father,
But a foolish son is the grief of his mother.
9
Hebrews 126 For whom the LORD loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives." 7 If
you endure chastening, God deals with you as with
sons for what son is there whom a father does
not chasten? 8 But if you are without
chastening, of which all have become partakers,
then you are illegitimate and not sons. 9
Furthermore, we have had human fathers who
corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we
not much more readily be in subjection to the
Father of spirits and live? 10 For they indeed
for a few days chastened us as seemed best to
them, but He for our profit, that we may be
partakers of His holiness. 11 Now no chastening
seems to be joyful for the present, but painful
nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable
fruit of righteousness to those who have been
trained by it.
10
Proverbs 226 Train up a child in the way he
should go, And when he is old he will not depart
from it.
11
Proverbs 2826 He who trusts in his own heart is
a fool, But whoever walks wisely will be
delivered.
12
Proverbs 1412 There is a way that seems right to
a man, But its end is the way of death. Proverbs
2024 A man's steps are of the LORD How then can
a man understand his own way? Jeremiah 1023 O
LORD, I know the way of man is not in himself It
is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.
13
Proverbs 1415 The simple believes every word,
But the prudent considers well his steps.
14
Proverbs 1023 To do evil is like sport to a
fool, But a man of understanding has wisdom.
15
it is an abomination to fools to depart from
evil (Prov. 1319).
16
Romans 120 For since the creation of the world
His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being
understood by the things that are made, even His
eternal power and Godhead, so that they are
without excuse, 21 because, although they knew
God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were
thankful, but became futile in their thoughts,
and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22
Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and
changed the glory of the incorruptible God into
an image made like corruptible man -- and birds
and four-footed animals and creeping things.
24 Therefore God also gave them up to
uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to
dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who
exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and
worshiped and served the creature rather than the
Creator, who is blessed forever.
17
Proverbs 2722 Though you grind a fool in a
mortar with a pestle along with crushed grain,
Yet his foolishness will not depart from him.
18
As a dog returns to his own vomit, So a fool
repeats his folly (Prov. 2611).
19
Proverbs 15 A wise man will hear and increase
learning, And a man of understanding will attain
wise counsel, Proverbs 99 Give instruction to a
wise man, and he will be still wiser Teach a
just man, and he will increase in learning.
20
Proverbs 1710 Rebuke is more effective for a
wise man Than a hundred blows on a fool.
21
Proverbs 147 Go from the presence of a foolish
man, When you do not perceive in him the lips of
knowledge.
22
Proverbs 299 If a wise man contends with a
foolish man, Whether the fool rages or laughs,
there is no peace.
23
Proverbs 266 He who sends a message by the hand
of a fool Cuts off his own feet and drinks
violence.
24
Proverbs 264 Do not answer a fool according to
his folly, Lest you also be like him. 5 Answer a
fool according to his folly, Lest he be wise in
his own eyes.
25
Romans 129 Abhor what is evil. Cling to what
is good.
26
Proverbs 1617 The highway of the upright is to
depart from evil He who keeps his way preserves
his soul.
