  • A Temporary cemetery was set up on D-Day1 (June
    7, 1944)
  • Cemetery is on the site where the US 1st Division
    took the high ground on D-Day

  • 9,387 military graves (307 of which are unknown,
    4 are women)
  • 172.5 acres, rectangular in shape
  • Overlooks Omaha Beach
