Graphing Made Easy!
  • Lindsay King
  • Amy Barrette

28
Step 1. Data Entry
  • Put all of your dates in column A and scores/info
in column B. Be sure to label the columns
    appropriately.
  • Highlight the dates and right click on them.
  • Click on Format Cells and select category as
date and the type as 3/14/2001

29
Step 2. Making the Graph
  • Highlight all data.
  • Either click on the graph icon at the top of the
page or the Insert drop box at the top of the
    page and select chart.
  • Choose a line graph as your chart type.
  • Select to make your graph in a new sheet.

30
Step 3. Personalize your Graph
  • Right click on the graph and choose chart
options. This will allow you to change all of
the labels on your graph (ie., title, axis,
legend, etc.) and will allow you to change the
look of your graph (ie., gridlines).
  • If you right click on the graph and select
clear this will get rid of the background
making the graph easier to read.

31
Step 3. Personalizing your Graph
  • If you double click on the line, this will allow
you to change the look of the line and data
    points (color, size, etc.)
  • Double clicking on any word on your graph will
    allow you to edit it.

32
Step 4. Calculating the Slope
  • Click on the line, then go to the Chart drop box
    and select add trendline
  • Go to Options and select display equation
  • An equation like this will appear on your graph
    y 0.8399x 33113
  • The number before the x is your slope, so you can
delete the rest of the info
  • This number is your slope PER DAY, if you want a
WEEKLY slope you must multiply this number by 7

33
Other Cool Things with Graphs
  • Make sure that your Drawing toolbar is open. If
it is not open, go to View, Toolbars, Drawing.
  • This toolbar will allow you to add lines, arrows,
    circles, text boxes, etc.
  • If you use the circle to highlight a data point,
make sure you go up to the top and select no
fill so that the data point shows through
  • These can be used to separate data and add
    emphasis to key points.

34
What can you use these graphs for?
  • Progress Monitoring
  • CBM reading
  • CBM math
  • Behavior Monitoring
  • Time on task
  • Daily Behavior Report Cards
  • And so much more!
  • Use your imagination
