Where he was Born

• Jacob Lawrence was born in Atlantic City but he
  spent most of his time in Pennsylvania.
• His parents split up in 1922 so he went to live
  with his mom and siblings in New York,and
  settled in Harlem.

• Most of Jacobs Art was mostly about African
  American.
• The reason he painted mostly African American was
  because he liked learning about their culture.
  Jacob was a very hard working artist.

• For more than 65 years, Jacob Lawrence was an
  astute observer and storyteller who focused on
  the struggle for freedom and justice in America.
