Oxide ceramics are ubiquitous in modern society-
ranging from capacitors in electronic gadgets to
high-tech displays. In numerous future
technologies, it is necessary to pattern
ceramic oxides in various forms, e.g., dots and
lines, at the nanometer scale. NU-MRSEC
researches have demonstrated successful
fabrication of single crystalline nanopatterns of
multifunctional oxides using a unique technique
called soft electron beam lithography. This
approach has profound implications for harnessing
the technological applications of ceramic oxides.
