A brief history
  • 1916 Prohibition in Ontario Ontario
    Temperance Act
  • 1924 Plebiscite to end Prohibition
    was narrowly defeated
  • 1926 Made part of election platform
  • 1927 Liquor Control Act Introduction of Liquor
    Control Board and Brewers Retail to control
    sale, transport and delivery of alcoholic
    beverages.

  • 1947 LLBO formed alcohol beverages could now
    be sold in taverns
  • 1961 Clients at LCBO Brewers Retail no longer
    have to fill out order forms to make a
    purchase.
