some more servants and said, 'Tell those who have
been invited that I have prepared my dinner My

parable similar to the way people respond to the
    gospel message today?

    Jesus offer of eternal life?
  • How does God demonstrate His patience to
  • How did the king deal with the lawbreakers?

  • Matthew 228-10 (NIV) "Then he said to his
servants, 'The wedding banquet is ready, but
those I invited did not deserve to come. 9 Go
to the street corners and invite to the banquet
anyone you find.' 10 So the servants went out
into the streets and gathered all the people they
could find, both good and bad, and the wedding

Accepting the Invitation
  • If we are Gods servants, whom should we be
    inviting to the wedding supper?

  • 13 "Then the king told the attendants, 'Tie him
hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the

gnashing of teeth.' 14 "For many are invited,
    but few are chosen."

Dressing Appropriately
  • What did the king order his servants to do with
the man who was improperly dressed?
  • Wedding Garments
  • The wedding clothes did not refer to a particular
    style of garment,
  • were the cleanest and best clothes that each
    person had to wear.
  • Some commentators infer the king actually
    provided the appropriate banquet-wear
  • it was up to the attendee to put it on.

Dressing Appropriately
  • What did the appropriate attire communicate about
    the person wearing it?
  • The wedding clothes in the parable that were
needed for admittance to the banquet are meant to
symbolize what quality that is necessary for
entry into the kingdom of heaven?

Dressing Appropriately
  • What are some ways that people try to make
themselves right before God or earn their own way
    to heaven?
  • Why do you think people do this associate with
