In writing a resignation letter, there are no
fixed formats. Freedom applies when writing one
depending on what you want. However, you always

GENERAL LETTER OF RESIGNATION
This is the most used among all. It is
all-purpose and can be used at any circumstances.
At the top left hand margin is the date. The next
line is left blank. After is the name of the
addressee, the company name then the address. Two
lines after that is a salutation that ends with a
colon.

FORMAL 2WEEKS NOTICE RESIGNATION LETTER
This gives the company ample time to decide on
your resignation. They may grant it or give you a
counter offer. This will also give them time to
find a suitable replacement. This type of
resignation follows the general resignation
letter and the only difference is a 2 weeks
notice.
