Materials Needed

• Large Spoon
• Clear Plastic Cup
• Potting Soil
• Lima Bean
• Water

First

• Use a large spoon to fill your cup half-way with
  potting soil.

Second

• Take 1 lima bean and place it in the cup.

Third

• Cover the lima bean with potting soil leaving
  some room at the top so it doesnt spill.

Fourth

• Use your fingers to press the soil down so it is
  packed tightly.

Fifth

• When you have finished, write and draw your
  observations in your Observation Journal.

Sixth

• Then place your plant in front of one of the
  letters at the back table.
