Waiting to Dace This Bronze sculpture is another
child that she choose to use as a piece to
express a young girl waiting for her turn.

The Winner The Winner is a sculpture of a
child that is embracing a win. It is made out of
Bronze. Goodacre likes to make her sculptures
very realistic and emotional. As we can see in
this one we can clearly make out the emotion on
his face and what he must be feeling at that
moment. Goodacre is famous for doing sculptures
of children.

QuotesFor me, art is a
means of satisfying both the imaginative and
practical demand of life -- both the form and the
content must be right.I have always preferred
a realistic, academic and classical approach to
sculpture, and have been totally absorbed with
the figure and the head.As for the next
twenty-five years, I can not see myself
retiring. I intend to make more sculpture and to
grow with each piece realizing the wisdom gained
by experience. My success as a sculptor was
not without difficulties, but every situation
provided a learning opportunity.

Explanation of ArtworkGlenna Goodacres work is
mostly made out of bronze and marble. When she
does sculptures of just heads she uses a mask as
the cast for the bronze. When she does large
sculptures she uses a cast but not as detailed.
When the bronze is finished in the cast she puts
fine detail in her artworks. The detail that she
puts into her artwork is amazing.
12
Elements of Texture
Glenna Goodacres artwork is mostly made out of
Bronze. Over half of her art work is made out of
Bronze. The only other medium she has worked
with is Marble. The element that is most
profound in her work is the realistic texture.
She always wants to make her work feel and look
as emotional as possible. Goodacre puts a lot of
thought into what kind of texture her sculptures
are going to be, if the emotion of the piece is
harsh and violent then the texture will be rough.
If the emotion is warm and cool then the texture
will be smooth.
13
Elements of Shape
The work is beautiful and moving. Due to its
exquisite shape and form. It is very large and
domineering. The shape doest a lot for the
sculpture, it makes it a lot more emotional.
14
Elements of Space
Goodacre in this piece of artwork has made us
think, using negative space she adds lot more to
the artwork. I love the main focus in the piece
how she is leaning on the wall and how she has
her back to the negative space.
15
Elements of Planes
16
Principles of Design BalanceThis sculpture is
very well balanced. How the boy is standing and
how his arms are both up in the air and one foot
is in front of the other so it really looks like
he is standing and isnt going to fall. It is a
very asymmetrical sculpture.
17
Principles of Design RepetitionThis sculpture
isnt repetition in a sense that it is the same
thing six times in a row. The artwork is very
fun and all of the children are doing the same
thing but in there own different way. As your
eyes make there way down the sculpture you cant
wait to see whats next in line.
18
Principles of Design ProportionThis piece of
work is very proportional in that it is small and
cute. I think that the look on her face and the
flow of her dress is perfectly proportional. The
entire feeling of the sculpture just works.
