Title: Commercial Lighting Supplies

Commercial Lighting Supplies
  • As a business owner, you know how important the
lighting systems are to your company. There are
many roles filled by commercial lights. They add
to the safety, practical, and aesthetic
components of your business, but if you are
installing these yourself, you will need to find
the right commercial lighting supplies in order
to properly mount and wire them. The size of your
business does not matter if you need lighting.
All workplaces will need to be lit. This is for
the safety of your employees and customers.
Commercial lighting supplies can provide you with
the hardware and accessories you need in order to
self install a myriad of lighting choices.

  • Types of commercial lighting supplies you might
find a need for could include commercial parking
lot light poles. These are necessary for mounting
outdoor street lights and other types of exterior
lighting. For light poles you need to determine
how you will mount them. The mounting accessories
for poles are also vital supplies. Some poles can
simply be put into a gravel-lined hole in the
ground. This is a simple embedding, and it is the
easiest and most common method. There are other
mounting options for decorative light poles as
well which require the use of a poured concrete
foundation. Take a look at your light pole and
the lamp you intend to affix to it. The lamp
attached to the pole will require wiring to
render it fully functional. The height of the
pole, type of lamp, and the bulb will determine
the supplies you will need to wire it.

  • If you operate a warehouse, you might need
commercial lighting supplies such as flood lights
or commercial emergency lights. These are for the
safety of your employees. They also provide for a
    productive work environment. The supplies
required to install these will be dependent upon
the type of light and the bulbs used. You will
want to look for energy efficient lamps or Lutron
dimmer control switches as they will save you
money in the long run by lowering your electric
costs. The area for the lamps to be installed in
will also dictate the amount of light required.
In work areas, you will need a lot of light and
the necessary commercial lighting supplies to put
them in. If the lights you will install are low
    voltage,

4
  • you need to get a transformer of ensure that
there is one in the lighting package. This
applies to any low voltage path lights you will
install. A transformer will act to bring the
voltage of a typical outlet, which is 120 V in
the United States, down to the operating level of
the lamp. Most low voltage lamps are between 12
and 24 V. You can tie several lights into the
transformer, but keep in mind that the sum of the
wattage of all the lamps must be less than the
    load of the transformer.

5
  • Outdoor lighting Transformers are just one of the
many commercial lighting supplies you might
require. There are as many supply types as there
are lighting options for your business. If you
need assistance in finding the right  commercial
lighting supplies or are unclear about what to do
with them once you have them, then you will need
to consult with an expert. Professional
contractors could be hired to do the job, or you
could consult step by step instructional
    specifications designed to make installing
    lighting projects easy.
