Yesterday we introduced you to the political
party process

Today, were going to go a bit more in depth
about the election process.

RSF Election Process for next week...

There will be 4 Leadership Positions from each
homeroom...

  • Student Senate (1 student per homeroom)
  • Participate support all before after school
    programs. Attend meetings regularly. Report
    back to homeroom. Can run for another position.
  • Student Advisory Committee (1 Student per
    homeroom)
  • This committee will meet with Dr. Roy and the
    Vice President primarily to discuss school
    improvement Student feedback. Cannot run for
    another position.
  • Student Steering Committee ( 1 per party per
    homeroom)
  • This committee will meet in the beginning phase a
    lot. After the election, you will become part of
    the spirit committee. Cannot run for another
    position.

This weeks Process...

Step 1- Register to vote
  • Friday 9/26
  • Your teacher will share the party platforms
    (parties ideas goals, etc.)
  • Complete the Voter Registration Card
  • Choose the ONE political party you would like to
    be part of.

Step 2- Classroom Primaries
  • On Tuesday 9/30
  • You will be required to fill out an application
    for candidacy. This will also include a petition
    that must be signed in your homeroom.
  • If you are not running for a position, you are in
    the clear during this phase.
  • Please support your classmates during this
    process.

Step 3- Classroom primary Election
  • Wednesday 10/1
  • If you are running for a position, you will give
    an election speech to your fellow party members.
    The length of the speech is expected to be 1
    minute.
  • As a result of this election, there will be 1
    candidate per party for Each position. They will
    have a General Election.

Step 4-- Classroom General Election
  • Thursday 10/2
  • Winners from yesterdays primaries for all 3
    positions will give a campaign speech. For the
    General election, speeches should be 2 minutes.

Teachers announce winners next phase
begins... Stay Tuned
\Candidates for Student Senate give speech to
party members in homeroom.
The Winning Candidate from each party run against
each other in the general election.
Candidates for Student Advisory give speech to
party members in homeroom.
The Winning Candidate from each party run against
each other in the general election.
All Candidates for Steering Committee give speech
to party members in homeroom.
There will be ONE representative PER political
party that wins. Basically, the primary is the
general election for this position.
