My Cabin -
  • My family owns a cabin in northern Minnesota. Our

    bought 3 islands on the
  • lake in the 1940s back when land was sold for a
    song.
  • Every summer my extended family meets at the
    lake. The days are
  • filled with a rhythm that I love. We kayak and
    hike. We pick wild
  • blueberries and swim. We sip cocktails on the
    porch.
  • But most of all we talk and listen and laugh.
  • Click on Minnesota to see a map of Burntside
    Lake.

13
More about My Cabin -
  • At night sometimes I can hear the
  • loons calling to each other.
  • Their calls can be heard all the
  • way down the lake from miles
  • and miles away.
  • And some nights I lie awake and
  • just listen to the silence.
