The term distance education is commonly used to
describe courses in which nearly all the
interaction between the teacher and student takes
place electronically. Electronic communication
may take the form of audio, video, e-mail, chat
and the Internet. Our goal is to provide the best
possible alternative learning environment for
Prince WIlliam County Public School students.

traditional courses in subjects such as English,
Math, Science, and History.

Students complete the courses online through
Blackboard.com and other resources in the comfort
of their own home and around their own schedule.

Any student in Prince William County who is
currently enrolled in grades 9-12.

Students must have access to a PC, the internet
and email. They must have a desire to learn and
the self-discipline to be able to work
independently and succeed.

• Students can work at their own pace.

• Students may take courses at the Virtual High
  School in lieu of Summer School.

• Students can view their progress with an online
  grade book.

Students can pick up an application in the
Guidance office of the home base school.

From there, the Virtual High School will review
the application and all approved students will be
enlisted into the program.
