2Neuropeptides Studied
- Neurotensin
- Neurotensin Fragment 8-13
- Substance P
- Leu-enkephalin
- Met-enkephalin
- Dynorphin A
- Aprotinin
- Metorphamide
- Bradykinin (P.F.)

- Protamine Sulfate
3Effect of neuropeptides upon cathepsin G activity
- Cathepsin G is one of 5 enzymes which converts
ANG I to ANG II in the renin-angiotensin-aldostero
ne system - Studied whether any of the neuropeptides would
inhibit or stimulate cathepsin G activity. - Stimulation or inhibition of cathepsin G activity
may have implications in hypertension or
hypotension.
4Effect of neuropeptides upon the hydrolysis of
Suc-Ala-Ala-Pro-Phe-p-Nitroanilide by Cathepsin G

6Effect of neuropeptides upon Activated Partial
Thromboplastin Time (APTT)
- Studied whether any of the neuropeptides would
stimulate or prolong clotting time. - The effects of the neuropeptides upon APTT may
have implications clinically when addressing
blood coagulation.

8Effect of Lisinopril/acetaldehyde mixture and
Captopril/acetaldehyde mixture upon Prothrombin
time
- Lisinopril and Captopril are ACE inhibitors used
commercially to treat hypertension. - Acetaldehyde is the primary metabolic
intermediate in the metabolism of ethanol in the
body - Studied whether Lisinopril/acetaldehyde and
Captopril/acetaldehyde mixtures would stimulate
or prolong prothrombin time thereby possibly
altering the effect these two drugs have in the
body if in the presence of acetaldehyde
