What is persuasive language?
  • It tries to get you to change your mind.
  • It tries to make you want to buy the product.

What are the features of persuasive language?
  • It uses adjectives
  • Eg. Exciting, fashionable, gorgeous, nourishing.
  • It uses superlatives. These are words that often
    end in est
  • E.g. biggest, fastest, best, greatest, loveliest.

  • Adverts sometimes try to make you feel jealous.
    E.g. a shampoo advert makes you feel jealous of
    someone elses lovely hair!
