HOW TO BALANCE SCHOOLWORK AND A JOB
  • Trying to juggle school and work can be a
challenging task. You have to figure out how you
can handle keeping that job, while still keeping
your grades up. Here is a few tips that can help
you become successful at doing this!

6
HOW TO BALANCE SCHOOLWORK AND A JOB
  • The first thing you should try to do when
deciding whether you can handle both school and a
job is to decide how many days and hours you can
work per week without hurting your grades, and
    still allowing time for schoolwork.
  • Make sure to specify, when you do get hired, that
this is a part time job, and that school is very
important to you, so that your employer doesnt
pressure you to work too much and allows you the
    time you need for school.
  • Make a schedule for yourself. Allow time for work
and school, along with time for social and
    personal free time.
  • Try, if possible, to take off at least one
weekend day to have to yourself for whatever you
    enjoy doing!
  • Balancing a job and school can be challenging,
    but it can be done!

7
HOW TO STOPPROCRASTINATING
  • Most high school students have that tendency
to wait until the last minute to complete a
project, or to study for a big exam. Heres a few
tips on how to manage your time spent on
something, without having to hurry to get it done
    the night before.

8
HOW TO STOPPROCRASTINATING
  • FOR A PROJECT
  • Start brainstorming the day that you get the
    assignment!
  • The next day, make an outline of what you will
do, and how you will put it together.
  • The next day, make a rough draft or copy of what
    you will do.
  • Finally, sit down and do the final project all at
    once.
  • Now you have your project done early! And it
takes much less time than doing it all in one
    night!

9
HOW TO STOPPROCRASTINATING
  • FOR AN EXAM
  • A few days before, make flash cards of key terms
that you will need to know.
  • Make up your own practice exam based on those
flashcards or anything you need to know to test
    yourself.
  • Each night before the test, go over those
flashcards at least once or twice.
  • The night before, study flashcards at least 3 or
4 times. Then take the practice exam to see how
    well you know it!
  • Now you will hopefully be secure in your
knowledge of the content, and you wont need to
cram for hours the night before!
  • Being well prepared for both a project and
    an exam
  • is an important part in how successful you
    are!

10
HOW TO TAKELECTURE NOTES
  • There are many ways to effectively take notes.
Here are just a few tips that will help you to
    take organized, effective class notes.

11
HOW TO TAKELECTURE NOTES
  • First and foremost, write the date.
  • Write down the topic of the lesson, and any
textbook chapters or pages for reference.
  • Use abbreviations whenever possible to make sure
that you keep up with the lecture.
  • Using bullet points or roman numerals to help
with the organization of your notes.
  • Go over the days notes each night to make it
easier to study come test time, because youll
already have most of the content in your head.
  • Use these tips, and you will be more
    successful!

12
HOW TO CHOOSEA COLLEGE MAJOR
  • Choosing a college major is a decision that may
effect you for the rest of your life. Here are a
few tips to help in making your choice a little
    easier.

13
HOW TO CHOOSEA COLLEGE MAJOR
  • Think of what you love to do. What classes or
subject interest you? Which ones do you enjoy
    most?
  • Look into all the requirements that are needed
for the major, and see if you have the desire to
commit to all of those requirements.
  • Think about what you want in your future, such as
a family, and decide whether you could still have
    that with this career choice.
  • Dont stress too much. You can always change your
major if you arent happy with your first choice.
  • This is just the starting point, and there is
much more ahead that will determine where you
will end up and what career you will choose!
