• Many financials and manufacturing apps
  installations (10.7, 11.0.3, 11.5.5)

• 9iAS version 2 (1.0.2.2.2)
• Fresh 11.5.7 install
• If upgraded to 11.5.7, requires tech stack
  upgrade (or separate 9iAS stack)
• Netscape 4.7x or IE 5.5 (faster!) on client
• Not certified with Netscape7 yet

  on Solaris (patch 2587539) - YMMV
• Before applying this patch, verify files reg.tmp
  and varfile.tmp in lt806_ORAHOMEgt/orainst have
  correct entries (especially true if this is a
  cloned instance) !

• Patch will backup and overwrite 3 config files,
  take manual backups anyway before applying patch
  (full path mentioned in Doc)
• htmlvars.js
• disco4iv.xml
• discwb.sh
• Patch takes less then 5 minutes to apply

• ORAHOME files are in lt806_ORAHOMEgt/discwb4/util
• Verify port numbers and SID entries in these
  files (especially if a cloned instance) !

• Re-apply config settings
• Re-applying config setting using Autoconfig did
  not work - used manual method.
• Verify TNS_ADMIN, FND_TOP and INSTANCE_NAME
  entries in lt806_ORAHOMEgt/discwb.sh file
• Edit lt806_ORAHOMEgt/util/pref.txt as indicated in
  Doc
• Also update the MachineIPs parameter in pref.txt,
  if necessary !

• Re-apply config settings (contd)
• Run script lt806_ORAHOMEgt/util/startall.sh to
  start discoverer services
• Run script lt806_ORAHOMEgt/util/applypreferences.sh
  (to apply preferences in pref.txt)
• Then check file lt806_ORAHOMEgt/util/error.txt for
  errors

• Re-apply config settings (contd)
• Run script lt806_ORAHOMEgt/util/registerall.sh to
  register preferences
• Check log files in lt806_ORAHOMEgt/util for errors
• Refer MetaLink Doc 198279.1 for further
  troubleshooting info
• Running the above scripts is a one-time
  requirement

• Starting Stopping Discoverer Services
• To start discoverer services -lt806_ORAHOMEgt/util/s
  tartall.sh
• To stop services -lt806_ORAHOMEgt/util/stopall.sh
• Incorporate in your instance startup shutdown
  scripts

• Functionality same as Desktop, except -
• No PDF output option available
• Workbooks can only be saved to database
• Workbooks can be shared to specific users or
  responsibilities
• Response time comparable to Desktop
• Need beefy client (gt500Mhz, gt256MB)

• Cannot create new workbooks
• Product is meant for the masses -
• every user will need an Apps login
• built-in security
• Response time noticeably worse than Desktop/Plus
  - tuning opportunities ??
