Conference Quick Notes
  • Conference Registration Brochure Being Developed
  • The conference registration brochure is slated
to go out this winter. Much information,
however, is already available on the website and
will continuously be updated as we get closer to
the conference. For more information, please
contact Dean Schultheiss, Events and Outreach
    Manager, at 703-575-9400 x25.
  • Conference Planning Committee Established
  • The Orlando-based conference planning committee
has been established and is beginning the work of
    designing the 2005 program.
  • Program Changes Envisioned for 2005 Conference
  • If you have looked at the 2005 calendar, you
will notice a pattern shift for the 2005
conference Thursday through Sunday, as opposed
to the traditional Wednesday through Saturday.
We also envision the addition of two institute
tracks, which are longer than the 115 minute
concurrent workshops and we also plan a series of
post-conference sessions on Sunday morning with
the conference adjourning by 1100 a.m. See page
5 for a tentative program outline.
  • Number Crunching for Orlando Conference
  • Now is the time to budget for this conference.
Go to page 8 for figures to help you prepare your
    budget requirements.
  • Delta Airlines and Hertz are Official 2005 Travel
    Team
  • Delta Airlines is the official air carrier of
NADCPs 11th Annual Drug Court Training
Conference in Orlando. Discounts of up to 10
are available on advance flight purchases. Delta
is the predominant airline in Orlando. For your
ground transportation needs, NADCP has again
contracted with Hertz to provide discounts on
auto rentals before, during and after the
conference. See details on page 9.

Programmatic Changes Planned
  • NADCPs Annual Training Conferences were combined
in 2004 to better reflect the training needs of
the drug court field. With that came an expanded
number of topic-focused training tracks oriented
to adult, juvenile, family and other
    problem-solving courts.
  • In response to the maturation of drug courts, as
well as the advances in treatment and research
related to drug court, expanded in-depth
workshops will be incorporated into what we are
calling Institute Tracks. Each will be two
hours in length and run concurrently with the
regular tracks, which are still one hour and
fifteen minutes. These, and a series of
    post-conference workshops, will replace the
    traditional Wednesday pre-conference workshops.
  • Three plenary sessions are slated. Watch our
website for updates on exciting speakers and
    topics.
  • Attendees will still find workshops that feature
both the familiar interactive panel discussion
and sessions presented by expert lecturers.
Networking opportunities along with the exhibitor
fair and marketplace remain important elements of
    the conference.
  • A series of post conference workshops are slated
for Sunday, June 12. Each will be approximately
two hours in length and will cover some of the
leading edge topics of our times. Honors and our
keynote speaker will be scheduled for Saturday,
June 11. The earlier adjournment on Sunday then
will benefit those catching flights to the West
    Coast.
  • Finally, we will begin our day a little earlier
and end earlier so that participants may partake
of the exciting venues in Orlando as well as the
offerings of the magnificent Marriott Orlando
    World Center Resort.
