• Flag Day was originated in Wisconsin Public
  School District 6 when a school teacher had his
  students celebrate the birthday of the flag.
• On June 14, 1916 Flag Day became a federal
  holiday. The Continental Congress voted and
  decided that the people should have a day to
  honor their Flag.

Stars and Stripes
To celebrate Flag Day people wave flags, wear
red, white and blue, sing patriotic songs, and
salute the main symbol (Our Flag).

People celebrate Flag Day because they felt they
should have a day to honor their flag. On Flag
Day people wave flags, sing patriotic songs, and
salute the flag. People also wear red, white and
blue (our flags colors).
