CCCWV
  • The CCCWV is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization
    established in 1992
  • The original CCC was created under the leadership
    of President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933
  • The Mission of the CCCWV is to conduct projects
    programs that
  • Strengthen and revitalize our communities
  • Provide self-esteem, educational enhancements and
    employment opportunities through meaningful work
    experiences for both youth adults and
  • Conserve, develop, and enhance our states
    natural resources

  • One of 100 corps around the country -- parent
    organization is the National Association of
    Service and Conservation Corps (NASCC) i.e. The
    Corps Network located in Washington, DC
  • NASCC The Corps Network represents over 23,000
    corpsmembers serves as the leader and voice for
    the national corps movement by promoting growth,
    quality and sustainability
  • Over the past 19 years, NASCC has played a key
    role in shaping and securing passage of 2 pieces
    of national service legislation achieved a
    respected status nationally in the youth
    employment training field and is an active
    participant in public service policymaking the
    development of environmental legislation related
    to corps
  • CCCWV received the Strategic Partnership and
    Corpsmember Development awards, selected by its
    NASCC peers for its Courtesy Patrol program
  • Received ECO accreditation -- Excellence in Corps
    Operations

Trails Developmental Program Design
  • 1 of 4 major components of the CCCWV
  • Provides transitional employment for approx. 75
    young men women annually with an emphasis on
    job training, education, life skills, mentoring,
    and civic community spirit
  • 3-5 corpsmembers comprise a working crew
    coupled with an adult supervisor
  • Scope of work includes demolition, building
    stabilization, construction conservation,
    historic preservation, exotic plant removal,
    trail building maintenance, expansion and
    access to public recreation sites, and other
    service type projects spanning 17 communities
    throughout the state

Roadmap to Establishing Strategic Partnerships

  • A no-cost education and vocational training
    program administered by USDOL that helps young
    people ages 16-24 to get a better job

  • Authorized by the National and Community Service
    Trust Act as a combination of the Youth
    Conservation Corps and the now, defunct Young
    Adult Conservation Corps.
  • Provides the opportunity for environmental

    National Park Service such as restoration, repair
    or rehabilitation
