What is needed for the Balance of the Semester!
  • If youre a department chair, have at least two
department meetings with minutes before the end
of the year 1) one on draft core competencies
SLOs and 2) work on program SLOs.
  • If youre a faculty member, be sure to go to the
two department meetings between now and the end
    of the semester.
  • If youve got a course stuck somewhere in the
    curriculum process, finish it.

30
What is needed for the Balance of the Semester!
  • 4. If theres a course being offered in Fall
    thats out-of-compliance with the five-year
review cycle, get the updated outline turned in
the first week after you return from Spring Break
    week of April 9th.
  • If youre on a shared governance committee,
attend all the meetings between now and the end
of the semester, if you havent already been
doing so. At the end of the year, each committee
will be completing a Self-appraisal Form.
    Participate in this process.
  • Come to as many campus-wide forums as we offer
between now and the end of the semester. This is
one of our primary means of communicating with
    our campus community.

31
What is needed for the Balance of the Semester!
  • 7. All Oxnard College employees can reflect on
who our students really are and how we can best
    help them become educated.
  • 8. All Oxnard College employees can take the
upcoming meetings as launching pads for thinking
on how they can reach out to more learners and
    build the college.
