MESSAGE
  • Help LEADER reduce the number of deaths and
    injuries to children on our roads, by providing
    them with the best possible education that will
    teach them good driving habits.
  • We can make a difference with some help from our
    community.
  • We have made a good start.

TEENAGE DEATHS
  • The number one cause of death for children in the
    USA ages 16 24 is Motor Vehicle Accidents.
  • 13,000 People a year die on our roads each year.

Lanier Extended Area Drivers Education Resource
  • The mission of the LEADER program is to create an
    environment within the local and surrounding
    communities where driver safety is a top of mind
    concern among all licensed drivers.

Teenage Accidents
  • During 2000 over 200 of our states children
    were killed in Teenage Driver Car Accidents.
  • Several thousand teenagers have been seriously
    injured.
  • Our community is making a grassroots effort to
    address the problem.

Situational Analysis
  • Our School System has partnered with us and we
    have reintroduced an extended Drivers Education
    program.
  • At this same time, the LEADER project has
    introduced a low cost, high quality Drivers
    Education initially through the high schools that
    allows participants to earn Carnegie Credits.

Elective Studies
  • The Current Drivers education opportunity is
    available to grade 8 and Grade 9 students as an
    elective subject.
  • We are encouraging parents to have their children
    sign up and avail themselves of the opportunity
    not available anywhere else.

Success
  • 1700 Children have completed the course through
    the high School.
  • We are looking for volunteers to help us organize
    all Parochial and home schooled children.
  • Other needy groups are invited to contact us
    about expanding our driving education program.

Proposal
  • LEADER Volunteers are encouraging the County
    Government and business leaders to follow the
    school Board in Supporting this educational
    opportunity and help us grow our program to save
    lives in our community.

Value Statement
  • LEADER, is a non-profit organization
  • and offers the local community a high quality
    driver education and safety course, whose main
    focus is the young inexperienced driver.

LEADER - Basic Guidelines
  • Our program provides extensive Traditional
    classroom education followed by State of the art
    Interactive Driving Simulator training.
  • For younger drivers, some parental involvement
    may be required.
  • Our goal is to maximize driver competency our
    volunteers participate in safety awareness and
    provides speakers for other groups interested in
    child safety.

Forsyth County School System Driver Education
Advisory Committee Study
  • Approximately 1500 students drive to school
    everyday in Forsyth County.
  • 2,000,000.00 to build the track and skid pads.
  • Maintenance 500,000.00 annual costs.
  • Land Requirement 30 acres.

TAX DEDUCTIONS
  • LEADER is a 501(C)3 protected organization
    allowing tax deductions for donations
  • We are requesting contributions from large
    corporate entities, local donors, and local
    business entities.
  • Initial facilities have been provided by the
    Forsyth Board Of Education. Our goal is to
    develop a permanent site containing a track.

  • We have 40,000 tax paying families in Forsyth
    County.
  • If each family donates 50.00 our facility can be
    built.
  • We are hoping that a philanthropist will provide
    the land.

Educational Program
  • Forsyth Count Board of Education have worked with
    LEADER and with Pruitts and we currently have a
    state recognized pilot driving program.
  • We have the largest Interactive driving simulator
    lab in the USA.
