    misuse in order to achieve their full potential

    to overcome them and live healthy and crime-free
    lives.

  • People should have access to a comprehensive
    range of services in their locality
  • Services will be sign posted as single service.
  • One assessment will shared by agencies.
  • There will be clear messages and policies.
  • Resources will be used effectively to benefit
    communities.
  • There will be a programme to increase awareness
    of and provide services for alcohol misuse

DRUGS AND ALCOHOL
  • Establish a locality based integrated service
    model
  • Each community to have available, accessible
    treatment and rehabilitation for those misusing
    drugs and alcohol.
  • Wider range of options for treatment and care.
  • Support available at the point where it is
    needed.
  • Single shared assessment in place.

DRUG SPECIFIC
  • There will be a Review of shared care services.
  • Everyone on a methadone programme will have an
    opportunity for rehabilitation and support.
  • There will be equity of access.
  • There will be choices of programme.

YOUNG PEOPLE, CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
  • Increase focus around alcohol issues.
  • Sub group to work closely with Children Service
    Plans.
  • Maintain and review work in education.
  • Focus on young people outwith education.
  • Implement Getting Our Priorities Right.

  • Ensure protection and community safety are
    integral to strategy.
  • Work jointly with licence Boards to implement
    Nicholson recommendations in Lanarkshire
  • Ensure effective responses to target the
    offender/substance misuse connection
