they want to accomplish, their commitment to
bringing others along so compelling that
inspires others to participate in the fulfillment

DISCIPLINE Discipline is the BRIDGE between
Goals and Accomplishments
Leaders are disciplined individuals. They
exemplify focus and commitment. They walk the
talk.

better than the mighty, and He who rules his

Leaders anticipate challenges and are not

10 CRITICAL LEADERSHIP MISTAKES
  • Power hungry
  • Wont delegate the powers
  • Lack of knowledge
  • Unwilling to lead by example
  • Wont accept others ideas
  • Blaming others
  • Not watching their talkback
  • Taking credit for others ideas
  • Not surrounding themselves with good people.

LEADERSHIP AND MAN MANAGEMENT SKILLS
Donts (X)
1. Dont sacrifice quality for quantity of
production.
2. Dont criticise your sub-ordinate in front of
others. Do so, if necessary, separately.
3. Dont shout at your sub-ordinates dont use
abusive language.

4. Dont become so intimate and friendly with
your sub-ordinate that you cant exercise your
authority when needed.
5. Dont take credit for the sub-ordinates work
or achievements. Give due credit to him.
6. Dont depend on or refer to HRD/Personnel
Department for all human-related problems.
Think you are the HRD/Personnel person in your
department.

7. Dont get carried away by mischievous
elements who complain on others. Take
decisions based on facts and data.
8. Dont kill ideas of your sub-ordinates dont
discourage or ridicule their suggestions.
(Avoid Do it as I say attitude).
9. Dont disturb the work priorities of your
sub- ordinates as much as possible.

10. Dont be aggressive or submissive be
assertive.
11. Dont keep grudges and settle scores with
your sub-ordinates. (Ill teach him a
lesson attitude).
12. Dont say that every job is urgent your
urgency loses its value.

  • (i.e. giving a job to sub-ordinate and not
    checking the progress periodically)
  • or over-supervise
  • (i.e. giving a job and following up
    constantly).

14. Dont postpone decisions.
15. Dont be inconsistent in your moods and

your supervisors) and kick the bottom
(shouting and being rude to your
sub- ordinates).
17. Dont compare one sub-ordinate with the
other. In case you have to, do so tactfully.

20. Dont always use your positional power
(power and authority given to you by your
organisation) use personal power (based on
your job knowledge, skills and good human
relations).
