• Correlative conjunctions are coordinate
  conjunctions which come in pairs.
• They connect words, phrases , and clauses

• The city of Istanbul is in both Europe and Asia.
• Neither the telephone nor the doorbell rang all
  day.

• Mr. Loffer speaks not only French but also
  Spanish.
• Whether you like it or not, we are still studying
  it!

Conjunctive Adverbs

• The job of a conjunctive adverb is to join
  together clauses of EQUAL rank.
• A semicolon is used before the adverb and a comma
  follows it.
• I went to the store however , I forgot the
  milk.

• Words that express a strong feeling or emotion.
• These statements or words are followed by an

• Examples
