Save vs. Save As
  • SAVE

  • Saves a new version of what you are working on.
  • SAVE AS
  • -Use on NEW or RENAMED/RELOACATED files
  • Saves a new version of what you are working on
But it also gives you the option to change the
location or name of the file.

When to use SAVE
  • ALWAYS use SAVE when working on an existing
    document/file
  • Save when you are quitting an application
  • Save often when working hard
  • Save often if your battery may die

4
SAVE
  • There is no Save dialogue box
  • There are multiple ways to save
  • Disk icon on the Quick Access Toolbar
  • CTRLS key combination
  • Windows Menu Save

When to use SAVE AS
  • ALWAYS use SAVE AS when saving a NEW
document/file (this gives you options for what to
call it and where to put it)
  • Save As when re-naming a file (for turn in
    folder)
  • This creates a new file for you to put in a
    different location
  • It also leaves your original file in place for
you to keep incase you need it later.

  • Dont forget to back-up. Copy your schoolwork
folder and paste it into your network folder.
