• History of periodic passenger surveys
• County Council revived them a few years ago
• March and August 2003
• June and August 2005
• August 2006
• January 2007 planned

• Major changes to services
• County Council running the airport alone
• Evidence for business case
• Evidence for lobbying/funding
• High profile political issue

Survey Methodology

• Longer 4 page questionnaire
• Forms distributed by County Council officers
• Passengers could complete forms
• - while waiting for plane
• - later
• Interviews all day 600 2130
• One interview per party
• Attempt to interview as many parties as possible
  although difficult
• 550 successful interviews 600 in 2005
• Different totals for different questions
